Absolutely worth a 4 hour drive!
The castle is informative, the staff were lovely and the price was somewhat reasonable as we were there for hours looking round and learning of Bamburgh Castles history.
The views are unbelievable and the sight of the castle upon the hill as you drive towards it are incredible.
A beautiful Castle and a fantastic day out.

What can you realistically say here that hasn't already been said.

We had a beautiful day at the castle. Roughly a two hour visit...should be enough. Parking all day for a fiver was worthwhile. We essentially parked here all day and had a late lunch at The Potted Lobster! (Booking advisable!).

A beautiful day out!

Brilliant place. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit. So much history and the displays are first class. There are 2 cafes on site and the parking is good. £5 all day and this covers two other local car parks. Views are stunning.

On my visit to Bamburgh Castle, I explored one of the most iconic fortresses in England, set dramatically on a rocky plateau overlooking the North Sea. The castle's striking medieval architecture and breathtaking coastal views caught my eye immediately. Inside, I wandered through richly decorated rooms, such as the King's Hall with its impressive wood ceiling, and admired collections of weapons, armor, and historical artifacts. A really enjoyable visit.

Very interesting place to visit, steeped in history going back a very long time. Also has a more recent history in its current iteration. And, of course, it's a connection to the stories of Uthred and The Last Kingdom. There was an exhibition that had costumes from the series on display. Overall a very imposing castle and well worth a visit.

Top notch adventure and experience for entire family. Wonderful castle and great day out for entire family including dogs. The grounds are massive, there are picnic spaces, views are absolutely breath taking and when you have enough of history, you can always go to the beach, which is short distance from the castle.
Just beware, some of the places in the grounds are real steep, might be challenging for people with limited mobility or prams.
Please consider full day for seeing the castle of you want a full and deep experience.

Drove up to the castle from Luton. It is spectacular to say the least. Fantastic views and fantastic history. The beach is amazing with soft fine sand and great for dogs and children. I would absolutely thoroughly recommend.
