We stayed here with our small camper. Spacious pitches and all facilities are there. Beautiful views to the sea and nice walks possible along a rough coastline. And many seabirds to be spotted. Very welcoming owners. It is a small campsite so if you want to be so lucky to stay there it will be better to make a reservation. In the evening the 4 g signal is very weak.

stayed 2 nights in sanday, the first night we wild camped and then after looking at the weather we decided to stay here for our second night.

greeted by one of the owners, who was absolutely lovely. she showed us to our room and around the hostel, it was only us staying there that night so it felt like a whole house to ourselves! the facilities are perfect and the shower was great! had a really cosy and comfy nights sleep with the wee radiator in the room.

couldn’t have been better, extra points for the owners being welsh!

thank you!

Excellent accommodation & spectacular setting. I have stayed here before, but that was on the campsite. The self catering cottage is warm and well furnished with everything you need for a short break. The cottage is close to the sea and not far from the main road, but is very peaceful.

We recently enjoyed a fantastic family holiday on Sanday (Orkney) at Ayres Rock with seven people. Our cozy stay included both the main Hostel and one of the charming pods.||The Hostel is meticulously maintained, exuding a homely vibe. It’s spacious enough for a family, and we appreciated the cleanliness. The conservatory was a delightful spot to watch the world go by while relaxing indoors. Feeling the wind and rain without actually being outside was oddly satisfying!||The location was superb, surrounded by spectacular views and animals like cows, sheep, and seals. The beach right at our doorstep was a hit with the children. Speaking of the pods, they were snug and inviting—our little ones loved having their own space, and so did the adults.||Paul and Julie, along with their adorable dog Poppy, were exceptional hosts. Their warmth, friendliness, and wealth of local knowledge made our stay even more memorable. The site buzzed with a friendly atmosphere, connecting campers, motor homers, and hostel guests.||Check-in and check-out were a breeze, with no pressure whatsoever.|In summary, Ayers Rock is a 5-star gem. Even with wind and rain, we absolutely loved our stay and cherished the wonderful people we met along the way. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Whilst this is a lovely campsite and we had a great comfortable time here, we did feel it was over expensive. We were cycle camping with no vehicle, a small 3-man tent and a tiny 1 man tent which both fitted neatly onto 1 pitch. But we were allocated 2 large pitches and strictly charged for two units despite a polite request to reconsider on our second night. We left 1 pitch completely free so it could have been booked by other people but we were still charged for 2 pitches. It just seemed a bit harsh (and expensive for cycle camping) with no leeway. Otherwise it's a charming clean site in a great location.

Boiling hot shower which was perfect. The bed was super comfy. Hosts Julie and Paul are so accommodating. We will be back 😀 |Thank you so much for an amazing stay xx
