- When we arrived we were advised we couldn’t use the hot tub until the next morning so we were quite disappointed as we were only there for the weekend. The owner had advised us that the party before us had ‘made a mess’ and they had to empty and refill rather than use the ‘shock clean’. The party before us were there for 2 weeks, surely the hot tub should be thoroughly cleaned, drained and refilled after each party!
- There were lighters and ash left by the outside furniture when we arrived
-we felt that our stay was an inconvenience to the owner who was there when we arrived, letting us know she was there since 6am and hadn’t eaten (we arrived at 3pm, the time of our check in). In reality we have had this booked for months and any cross over with cleaning schedules is not the guests issue
- Sunday morning we all had to gather outside in the garden from 8.30am for an hour as the carbon monoxide alarm was going off. The owner arrived with the plumber and added we had woken him after being on call throughout the night. This was also not our issue
- We kindly asked if we could leave our car at the property for 10 minutes (!) whilst we grabbed a coffee to go from town at 8.50 (checkout was at 9am) but this request was immediately shut down, advising us that we can park on the road
-bin bags were left at the garden gates from the party before for the duration of the weekend.
The house itself was lovely, although tired and in some need of TLC.
The problem we found was with the owner themselves. We have attempted to sort this directly with no such luck, and zero apology hence the disappointing 2 star review.
To sum up- House was quite nice but god forbid you had an issue (or several).
