Liked: We liked the views the camp site was very well laid out. Toilets and facilities are all with in walking distance great for us as we have kids. Seems very safe and secure. Had a good time.

You can use off the ground fire pits and barbecues i thought this amazing as the forest is a blanket no no to fire pits. Usually.

Disliked: Didn't like being rushed off the pitch by 10am. We had alot of stuff and takes a while to put away. So 11am would be better than 10am exit time

We stayed in the woods and they do not allow you to park or even drop off your stuff so had a lot of walking to do.

The stay was very good but quite pricey to what you get. But the lake is off limits to your own boats and no one under the age of 5 not allowed on hired boats or on the lake at all. I feel as of safty is too much set out on this site.

If your taking kids under 5 there's not much to do.

Liked: Everything! Lake view field was great. Everything worked as it should, lots of facilities such as water/disposal etc all close by and well maintained. Clean and tidy. Lots to do on site. Staff are generally friendly and happy to help. The toilet/shower block was clean (and cleaned regularly), and, bonus, it was heated! Cafe on site and small shop with essentials. Short drive to local villages, which is nice to go and explore.

Liked: Excellent place to stay. So many great activities, especially for kids. We did high ropes and archery, the I structors were brilliant. We were also there for the Easter trail, which meant they could also go on the climbing wall and kayaking as part of that (although the site does become busy as external visitors come in).
Toilet/shower blocks were clean and well kept.
A big communal campfire was lit every night, great for marshmallow roasting.
Good location
Friendly helpful staff

Disliked: Our pitch was quite uneven with lots of holes and it took us quite a bit of time to get it even.
Toilet/shower blocks at the boathouse are mixed gender, it was fine but could be off putting for some.

Liked: We stayed in the Lakeview field on an electric hook-up pitch. We had a lovely view of the lake. Lots of payable activities available to do. We did canoeing & archery and both sessions where great fun & well organised by the staff running the events. There is a lovely cafƩ onsite with a good menu. The takeaway pizza was a bonus!

Disliked: The track leading down to the field is narrow in places with a few over-hanging trees but if you take your time, it is fine & manageable. Some of the pitches in the middle section are not level. Our pitch was on a slight decline but we had chocks to compensate for this so it was not an issue.

Liked: We loved being on the lake side pitch.
The park was so close and the children loved it.
The rope swings in the forest were a big hit also!
The activities looked great although we didn’t do any on our stay. A little pricey when you have more than one child.

Disliked: Very hard to level our caravan as the ground was so uneven we couldn’t extend our legs anymore.
My partner was very disappointed the lake was closed for fishing due to ā€œbreading seasonā€. We only found out on arrival, so had packed lots of unnecessary fishing equipment we couldn’t use.
There wasn’t a mapped or signed posted waste water disposal point on the east lake side field. To save the hassle of taking it all the way to the other field we had to dispose of it at the chemical point. Other caravan users had to do the same.
Disappointed there weren’t family shower cubicles as my partner took both young kids to shower but had to leave one sitting in the changing room and took turns.

Liked: Everything! This is a brilliant place to bring young children to explore and develop their confidence! Just missing a crazy golf and then it would be ideal!

Disliked: The showers could do with a little updating but I’ve never been camping anywhere that has good showers so it’s no surprise!

Liked: Our stay at Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Activity Centre and Campsite was absolutely fantastic! The location is beautiful and incredibly peaceful. Since there weren’t many people around, we could fully enjoy the silence and even stargaze at night—such a magical experience.

We didn’t take part in any activities, as we just wanted to relax, and this place was perfect for that. The campsite was well-maintained, the facilities were clean, and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

It would be even better if guests were allowed to check on the horses next door—that would be a lovely addition!

Highly recommend this place for a quiet and nature-filled escape. We’ll definitely be back!

Liked: All in all the side was OK,with open space, lake side and activities around ( which has to be pre booked with an extra cost) Staff being really friendly and helpful on arrival.

Disliked: We were placed in touring electric pitch next to the eco toilet . Throughout the stay: day and evening the strong and unpleasant odour was present !!! If ever decided to book make sure you request not to be next to WC
