Hired a car from here twice.
Close walk from Cardiff central, circa 5minutes.

Easy pick up as they call and complete the pre arrival paperwork Albiet, the DVLA code was not on although been given at the pre arrival call.

Credit card for security deposit, keys provided. Would recommend checking the car as smaller dents/ knocks not documented.

Stop off fast and efficient.
Staff variable- first occasion the lady was rather rude and the chap on return was charming. This time I had the same lady and she wasn’t rude.

Currently having to deal with a surprise monster bill. Thought it would be a fun excursion for about 300+ pounds, now they're trying to bill me for 1500+ pounds :/

In what universe does it cost 100 pounds to do administrative work for damages, 500 pounds to repair an "alleged 2cm scratch", and 200 pounds to fix an alleged "wheel scrape"?

They'll bill you immediately even if you dispute - so take note of that.

It really sucks when you've saved up the money to go to the UK, and now you can't travel with much ease anymore because you're not sure if you can pay it off :/

If you return a few minutes late - they will charge you for a full day.

Additionally, any damages will have a flat 70 pound (vehicle idle fee) and a 30 pound (damage processing fee).

Called the hotline, but effectively the lady said she couldn't do anything, not even transfer me to a higher-up.

We rent a car here with booking so it was pretty easy and cheap definitely worth it! It was one of the cheapest car rental we found we've been very very glad with the friendly staff member who help us when we had some questions about the rental they really try to help their customers and do their best for help them out

There is a petrol station just in front of the agency so it's even more easy for dropping the car back you even have a letter box for putting the key too 👍🏻

Be careful guys when you take the car from here make sure you check well I took the car last week they told me to check the body. I checked the body. It was some scratch. I told them but as I drive off it was a little crack on the screen. I thought they were you know when I took it back and the guy checked the car they blame me for the crack and I had to pay for all the truck which I haven’t done it. I tried to speak to them over the phone. They keep hang up the phone on me. There’s no one to help you so they took my money and they don’t care now so just be careful when you hire a car from there make sure you check very well because the customer service is rubbish.

It was my first time renting from here this week and I'll definitely be back. I used to go to Enterprise on Penarth Road (10+ times) and there were issues or delays with pick-up pretty much every single time, and/or they would take really long to find my booking, have the wrong car, a dirty car, one time they told me to go to a different branch across the city to pick up the car I'd reserved at that location, etc. Avis however was an amazing experience (for the same price or slightly lower!). Very friendly and quick check-in, a new car that drives really well (the whole fleet looks new, in mint condition and very clean) and just generally a zero faff experience. Never going back to Enterprise and their old / poorly maintained fleet. Thank you so much!

Although I foolishly did not have the presence of mind to obtain his name, the young gentleman who took care of us at Avis (Tudor Street, Cardiff) was splendid! He was incredibly professional, patient, and polite! He spent an inordinate amount of time making sure that we had everything squared away and that we’re comfortable with the vehicle.
Heathrow folks are great, but this young man went Above and Beyond the call of duty!

I certainly hold that his superiors recognize his commitment and efforts.

As a world traveler or 4 decades experience, I have seldom encountered another with greater service commitment.

Please be careful of unauthorized charges to your credit card. I booked a rental car here on September 24th, 2024 and used it on the 25th. In October, My husband received a bill from credit card company dated September 24th for approximately 14,000 yen in Japanese yen. However, in November he was charged again £30 on 21st October and £30 on 24th October. We left the UK on September 28th and there are no other days we have rented the car other than September 25th. Isn't this a scam?
