Lol velt art gallery downstairs and a shop with a cafe and more artwork upstairs. Only thing is that the artwork upstairs is behind where people sit to eat and drink so you have to peer over them to see the art. Not ideal.
No parking so find a roadside space or park at Tesco only a 3 minute walk.

Great café, really nice sandwiches & soups! Definitely recommend! There’s also a lovely view on the harbour, and a dog friendly area! ☀️ Only little con is that we waited quite a while for our meals, but other than that, loved it!

Art gallery and creative space - certainly the largest such space in the Western Idles. Downstairs is an art gallery along with a gift and bookshop. There is a good cafe upstairs. There aren't any parking facilities but Stornoway does have a fair amount of parking spaces.

The Thai Cafe uses the restaurant space in the evening between 1600 - 2200 on Tues - Sat. A great selection of menu options and such a great view over the harbour when you're having your meal.

An Lanntair Arts Centre is a great facility to have in Stornoway and is improved by having this dining option available. Book a table though!

We visited An Lanntair in early April 2025 (so before the tourist masses arrived!). Convenient location, very attractive building with an exhibition area and bookshop downstairs. We went upstairs to the cafe where there is a dog friendly area (and the dog was properly welcomed, not just tolerated! She got a free treat and some water). We had soup for lunch - absolutely delicious - and tea and coffee. I had tea for one and the teapot was a really good size - just over four cups' worth!

Waited 20 minutes for a regular cappuccino. Ended up getting it as a takeaway because I didn’t want to rush—but I’m not even sure what I was given, as it definitely wasn’t what I ordered. The staff seemed visibly exasperated and it was short staffed. Hope you get more staff in future to ensure a good experience all around.

Another visit to The Thai Cafe now in An Lanntair. Food wonderful as usual with friendly prompt service. The new location adds to the experience. Will hopefully be back before going home. Recommended

Very much gone downhill.

The guy serving had all the charm of a smelly fart.

Over the years I've been here many times. Will not be back until it changes hands again.

On last visit ordered 2 coffees. They were behind in bringing out the coffees. Really? Wasn't busy FFS. And the coffee was the worst I've tasted in a while. Left half.

Only giving a second star because the place historically holds good memories.
