What an extremely helpful company. I used AmeriCamp this summer, and they were with me every step of the way. They matched me to a perfect camp in Chicago. Where I had amazing experience and made incredible friends. Also they provide medical insurance so you know you're covered. They reply to emails/socials so fast too if you ever need help and send thorough instructions for your visa etc. Felt in completely safe hands. 100% recommend šŸ™‚

Such a supportive, reliable and friendly company! I went last summer with them and I can't wait to use them again next summer! They all were so kind and patient with me and my endless questions, and on the multiple occasions where I panicked and thought I wouldn't be able to go. They truly help you with every single thing and help you every step of the way. My very anxious self couldn't ask for anything more, and I ended up having a life-changing summer! Such a fab company, definitely recommend!

Going to camp is not worth it!!!
Please do research beforehand to see if camp really is the right place for you. I was desperate to go after seeing endless posts and stuff about going to camp to have ā€œa summer of a lifetimeā€. So I pay a hefty fee to the agency and then for flights, etc. knowing I wouldnā€™t really make a profit for this once in a lifetime experience! However, when I got there it really is 24/7 working for months and you are micromanaged to the extreme. On your one day off and couple of nights off a week for a few hours you were repeatedly being taken to the same places or not allowed to leave the campsite at all! Some of which you have to pay extra to go to and some of which are very dangerous (we were literally told people die there every year). Not only this but the majority of kids and counsellors in my camp were very rude and be prepared to get no sleep with early starts and late nights! Furthermore, the agency tells you that you will get some of the money back in your tax return after getting taxed over $300 out there, but what they fail to mention is you make back about $15 and then have to pay $50 to send off the tax return in the first place, so you end up losing even more money!!! I really was optimistic about camp before going but now Iā€™m left with a negative experience and probably Ā£1000 out of pocket. Think before signing up!!!

I first went to Camp Jaycee with AmeriCamp in 2015 and have been returning ever since! Honestly the most friendly and enthusiastic office I've ever met who truly get to know you and make your experience extra special! They're always answering questions on Twitter (even at midnight!) and nothing is too big an ask! They also make sure you're getting the best pay compared to other companies which is great šŸ˜€

Had a very poor experience when I went with the company. I made next to nothing for about 11 weeks of working 24 hours.

Any dissatisfaction raised with the camp meant the camp would threaten to cancel your visa (obviously better camp vetting needs to be done).

Camp fairs are a joke unless you are a lifeguard or have specialist qualifications.

Iā€™ve just seen a TikTok live with an ambassador spreading lies about the experience and was muted/silenced for telling people to apply for the camps they were interested in directly.

Itā€™s also interesting how so many of the 5* reviews are from accounts that have reviewed nothing else. Maybe give more thought to those written by genuine people?

Amazing company!! I went to one of their camp fairs and thatā€™s where I found my jome for the summer. It was an incredible experience working at summer camp and AmeriCamp were very quick to respond to any questions I had before I went and while I was out there. Value for money is also really good compared to other companies.

Do NOT use! What used to be a Trustworthy and great company is now ran by money grabbers that donā€™t fulfil their services! They prey off their young customers that save up to have the summer of a life time knowing that they can take their money and hope that they are naive enough to not realise that they arenā€™t getting what they paid for! They take your money and do not provide the full services advertised! As someone that has spent many summers in the USA I promise you will have a MUCH better experience with other companies.
For my 3rd summer at camp I paid an absurd amount for a visa (Ā£500!!!) to Americamp - and then due to covid this got cancelled and 1) they never put the application in for it
2) I never went for a visa interview
3) I never received a visa
And they refuse to give me any amount of money back!
So where did that Ā£500 go?!! In their staffs back pockets!! Itā€™s disgusting.
I have receipts and emails to prove I never received services that I paid for and yet they have taken my money and ran - donā€™t fall victim like me. Save yourself the money, time and stress and go with a different company such as Camp America, CCUSA etc.
I have friends that went with alternative companies in my first year working at summer camp that earnt more and paid less! Trust me donā€™t make the same mistake as me.
