Hubby & I visited Amble Harbour after visiting Warkworth Castle.
We found a place for lunch, Quayside fish & chips.
Amble is very pretty. Lots of independent shops, bigger than I expected.
The Harbour has lots of eateries, huts selling different lovely items; and the market was on today at the Quayside, quite big.

We visited on Easter Saturday 2024, it was pretty busy with a nice buzzy atmosphere, there were some really nice independent trading stalls, we got some lovely ice cream from one of the small shacks it was really great, there are some nice restaurants in the vicinity and plenty of Chip Shops.
We spent a really pleasant couple of house there just wandering around.

Reasonable sized harbour, busy on certain days. Some small businesses are on site . Pubs, cafes, fish and chips and toilets available.

Absolutely gorgeous harbour and town, I was so sad to leave! Highly recommend for children and family holidays for a peaceful getaway from hectic city life. The local market on a Sunday is fantastic. Georgie Banger Co sausage rolls are heavenly, and their sausages absolutely stupendous, the locally roast and ground coffee fab and lots of interesting craft and gift stalls with a marina theme. There was even a waffle and coffee/tea/hot choc stand! The locals were fantastically helpful and educated us about fishing stock, lobsters, the local area, in fact all things related to harbour and marine life! We even learned how lobsters are caught, raised and I got to hold one 🦞 The Hatchery and Creel Fish shop were our best and favourite places, I just wish we'd stayed long enough to try the local restaurants, as the seafood was incredible. We got to see the RNLI practising rescues in training exercises, discovered the best local playpark and explored rock pools when the tide was out. We saw seabirds (lots of seagulls, cormorants, herons and terns!) and seals galore who were following the salmon into the bay. Absolutely fabulous for wildlife watching and peaceful walks in bracing fresh air in what I can only describe as divine peace and quiet! Will be visiting again soon. I can't rate it highly enough.

Lovely place. Amble facing the North Sea, with the river coquette running into Northumberland, with a very busy salmon & trout river for anglers way up into Northumberland.

Lovely cafes, Sunday market & car boot stall.

Love this place so peaceful and friendly. The Saturday morning car boot sale is great for bargains. Plus the views are amazing!
