Beautiful place to walk around ( although it's quite a trek ) It's hilly in places.
But theirs plenty of places to stop rest and take in the view's. Theirs loads to do, from water activitys, kids play area, bike hire and even some highland cow's.
And don't forget the cafe, it's not the cheapest but the food is really good quality, so well worth the money. I highly recommend a visit, we will definitely visit again. Just don't forget your walking boots 👍🏼

Good place a hangout on lazy afternoon & on sunny day. We opted for Boat ride and it was late by 15 mins, we couldn’t catch our scheduled bus because of this delay. But great place , nice cafeteria. Pizza and sandwiches options available.

Alton water is near my daughters school so I often visit if I'm alittle early to have a hot drink whilst watching the boats or wildlife meander by. Parking is payable, there's good facilities on site including two cafes, a watersports centre, cycle hire, crazy golf, Fishing and children's playground. This year I believe they are set to open a beach area for swimming and paddling. You can walk or cycle the surrounding area and the Highland cattle onsite are adorable. Lovely place to spend a few hours or a whole day.

Great place for active day or days. Lot's of water activities, small but guarded sand beach and lots of walking or cycling routes around.

Well worth a visit. Lots for the children and adults to do. Showers. Changing rooms, toilets and plenty of friendly and qualified staff. The parking is expensive at £2 per hour for the main car park but you can pay just £3 all day if you don't mind walking from one of the satellite ones. The walk around is about 9 miles which will take 4 to 6 hours so if that us your plan park in a satellite car park so you can have a half way break. Lots of staff. Lots of very happy parents. The cafe by the reservoir is open until close to closing time so that is great if you need something before driving home. If you want to learn to sail get a season ticket for the parking. There is a lot of water so there is lots of room to learn and practice.

I dunno. If sailing or paddle boarding or kayaking is your thing then this place is probably very good?

We meandered around on a pedalo and it was perfectly fun.
