Just returned from a 2 day stay at Alton house, words can't describe how perfect our stay was, James and Andrew are the most incredible hosts, there is nothing that is too much trouble, they both have a laugh and both just remarkable people. The B and B itself, well perfect is an understatement, the rooms are so spacious and the attention to detail is unbelievable, this place is immaculate. There is absolutely nothing bad about this beautiful place. My partner and I have already booked again.

Fantastic on all fronts and we would award much more than five stars if this were possible. The Annexe is perfect for a self- catering stay, with absolutely nothing missing and the highest quality fittings and equipment. Owners are on site and available if needed, but not intrusive. Location is just minutes from the town centre with an extensive range of walks from the door plus many more in the locality.

We rarely stay in B&B, generally preferring hotels, but maybe we need to rethink. Having stayed in very good hotels all around the world I can honestly say it's rare to find one as good as Alton House. We stayed in room 1 which is lovely. The whole house is spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated and Andrew and James are great, friendly hosts, making everything easy and with good local recommendations. Breakfast was lovely and nothing was too much trouble. There are little, thoughtful touches everywhere. Highly recommended.

We have been holidaying at Alton House for a few years now. It is well situated on a quiet residential Street and only a ten minute stroll into town for a good choice of restaurants. There is off road parking for all guests. Perfect location for exploring Norfolk. Rooms are spacious with luxury bathrooms. Cleanliness and attention to detail is 5 star. Andrew and James are the perfect hosts, welcoming and friendly, nothing is too much trouble and they always have time for a chat. Breakfast is excellent with lots of choice. There is a lovely garden to sit in and relax. No 10 Restaurant is our favourite followed by The Bank Nepalese/Asian cuisine, Chai Yo Thai and Marmalade. Felbrigg and Blickling Halls both National Trust, Old Vicarage Gardens at East Ruston all good to visit.

Well what an absolute pleasure it was to stay at Alton House! James and Andrew were the perfect hosts and we felt welcomed and "at home" from the moment we arrived. Alton House is in a very quiet residential street, a short walk from the town centre. The property is beautifully maintained and decorated and you can see that James and Andrew work incredibly hard to create a 5 star experience for their guests. Our room (room 1) was exquisitely decorated and spotlessly clean. The bedlinen and towels are sumptuously soft and of exceptional quality. The Krups coffee machine, cleverly hidden in the wardrobe, was perfect for our first coffee of the day, enjoyed in bed, listening to a soundtrack of birdsong from the perfectly tendered English country garden. After enjoying a soak in the luxury bathtub, we made our way down to the dining room and enjoyed a well presented and tasty full English breakfast, served with filter coffee and fresh orange juice. We can't wait to return, hopefully to try the other rooms, but also to book a stay at the self-catering annexe. Keep up the good work guys - you doing an amazing job! Jeanne &, Si xx

Alton House is a wonderful place to stay. We received a very warm welcome and were delighted with our rooms. Everything was so clean and comfortable and the rooms were supplied with everything we might need. Andrew and James were charming hosts and provided a delicious breakfast. We particularly enjoyed the interior decoration with many items sourced from local businesses and artists. The house is very conveniently situated within walking distance to the shops and restaurants. It also had the advantage of off road parking. We would not hesitate to recommend this property. My other half and I stayed here as we wanted to visit Norfolk for my birthday. We have both always enjoyed Sheringham so this seemed like the perfect place to stay! Oh my, was it!!! We absolutely loved our stay and have already been talking about when we can stay again! Within minutes walk of Sherringam town centre but on a nice quiet street with driveway parking, this B&B is absolutely perfect! I’m a clean freak and I couldn’t find a single fault! Absolutely immaculate and so beautifully presented. Everything has been so tastefully done. To make it even better, Andrew and James were the most welcoming and perfect hosts! So lovely, friendly, made us welcome, made great recommendations on where to eat and go and made a banging breakfast! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Alton House to anyone and we cannot wait to stay again!
