In short, you will not be disappointed one bit booking with James! The attention to detail of your wants and needs are second to none, the effort and patience to take you away from tourist spots was incredible to experience. If you are any type of photographer, it is a MUST that you spend some time with James, he went out of his way multiple times to make sure I was getting the best possible photos, lent me a tripod for our tours, and ensured I was happy with my photos before moving to the next location. Scotland was made 10x better because of his knowledge, passion for history, and care for his passengers. We will absolutely be coming back!!

We loved James! He was absolutely the best tour guide I’ve ever had. He was accommodating, personable, friendly and easy to be around. He was flexible around the weather, and adjusted our itinerary based on that, and our requests. But the most impressive thing about him was how knowledgeable he is, about EVERYTHING, and how passionate he is about Scotland and his culture. His enthusiasm was contagious. His knowledge was mind-blowing! He took us to special out of the way places, and we loved that. I will be telling everyone I know to come to Scotland and hire James. ❤️❤️❤️

Just finished a customized tour #2 with James McKinley from Alba Experiences. We had a fantastic 9 days exploring the beautiful countryside and historic places that Scotland and James ,like no other can offer. From Edinburgh,to Glencoe,historic castles and the Isle of Skye and ending our journey with a dram at Midhope castle aka Outlander’s Lallybrook. So happy to have found a friend in James as our guide

From adding movie locations to encouraging me up The Storr, this trip was magical. He shared stories from history, local legends, and fairytales, as well as his photography and outdoorsman knowledge. We had a wonderful 4 day tour with James of Alba Experiences. Very thoughtful and well planned itinerary, entertaining stories and fantastic photography tips. Also the lovely unexpected wildlife sightings were a plus. Already planning our trip back and will ask James to be our guide!

Absolutely brilliant tour guide. James is fantastic. He shared the history of Scotland, he shared stories about the local areas and he tailored the tour to suit us and what we wanted. It’s so nice to be around someone who clearly loves their country and is proud of where they live. We never felt rushed anywhere we went and really felt like we could take in the beauty of the highlands. He picked an excellent spot for lunch and really went above and beyond to make sure we were happy! Including taking us on a little hike to make sure my mom could get the photo she was dying to get. The whole day just felt peaceful, stress free and wonderful. He even had treats for the car ride! Highly recommend booking this company and I know we definitely will be in the future. Can’t imagine seeing Scotland any other way.
