I recently joined a group of 3 ladies to hike Mount Toubkal with Adventurous Ewe. From day 1, Jim and Sue provided a fantastic, quick and responsive service. It felt really personal compared to booking with bigger travel companies and it was amazing value for money. We stayed in beautiful Riads and guesthouses and every member of the team were so welcoming and friendly. The trek itself was fantastic, the pictures really don’t do Mt Toubkal justice for how beautiful it is. Our guide, Ibrahim was wonderful. As relatively inexperienced hikers, he made us feel so relaxed with his great sense of humour and he supported us both physically and emotionally every step of the way. Our cooks were brilliant - we were blown away by the quality of the food they made us half way up a mountain with such little utensils! We set up for camp each night right next to the rivers and waterfalls along the trip- cold water plunging was a great way to soothe the achy muscles and added another unforgettable memory to the experience. We felt so safe and secure the whole way which was also an important factor for us as a small, all female group. I will definitely be booking again with Adventurous Ewe and can’t wait for the next adventure.

The winter Iceland experience was everything I was looking for in terms of adventure, from Snow shoeing, sledging to hiking in the mountains. We visited steam vents and boiling pools of mud and enjoyed fantastic views

From the moment I decided to do this amazing trip the team at Adventurous Ewe have been unbelievably supportive and their comms cannot be faulted. Jim, Sue and Jenny have all emailed me personally on areas I was concerned about as a single traveller for the first time and they encouraged me and put my mind at ease. I did however manage to convince a friend to travel with me in the end but I would have no hesitation about travelling alone with this company.

The travel app VAMOS is amazing and you feel like you have your own personal travel agent/PA coming on the trip. I love the ethos behind this company and their use of local agencies in Morocco. From the moment we touched down at Marrakesh airport we felt cared for in a way I haven't experienced before, unless someone else was footing a 5 star bill! The transfers from airport to accommodation were smooth and vice versa were timely and well organised.

This has been the most enriching trip I have ever taken and at the age of 54 with fairly good fitness level it was very doable! I am looking at booking my next trip with Adventurous Ewe as soon as possible! They are an outstanding company and I would highly recommend them.

Ok so the details and the best bits....the people they use on the ground. They are all friends of Jim and Sue and they speak highly of them. They are local Berber people who know the mountains as they live in the villages surrounding them. They looked after us like we were the first people who ever came to Imlil to climb MT Toubkal, we felt so special and welcomed. The guest house is beautiful and the food was of a high quality. I will miss the shakshuka breakfast, the copious amounts of fresh mint tea and the delicious soups and tagines.

So we gathered for our hike briefing with Ibrahim who is an expert guide and we discussed kit and conditions on the hike. We packed our bags (and snacks) and headed off early for our 3 day hike. We had one of best cooks in North Africa, Amir, joining us and the most sweet boy Hassan (apologies if their names are spelt wrong) who looked after the 2 mules who carried tents, food, extra gear etc. I am happy to report that the mules and most of the working equids we saw on the trip were in great condition and well looked after.

The three days consisted of starting with a lovely cooked breakfast; challenging hiking for a few hours; a lunch stop (always near cold water/waterfalls for a dip), usually consisting of a delicious soup and salads and breads. More mint tea (obviously). We then hiked on further whilst the team moved everything to our next camp and we ended the day with a 3 course meal including pancakes and a Tagine. The evenings ended with stories of our day around a camp fire. Absolutely fabulous.....I can't guarantee every trip is the same but I know the guests will be very well looked after by the wonderful Berber men who know the Atlas mountains so well.

The attention to detail, personal touches, thought and possibly most importantly respect for individuals, leaders, groups and the environment are second to none. I thoroughly recommend having an adventure with them - you will not regret it!

Our family had the most amazing experience with the Adventurous Ewe team! We decided to do a safari after climbing Kilimanjaro. Jim and Susan put together a custom itinerary for us. Our group agreed it was one of our favorite parts of our Africa journey. We will 100% be scheduling with Adventurous Ewe again and look forward to it. Couldn’t rate Adventurous Ewe highly enough with their immensely skilled and personable team both on the ground in the UK and out in Morocco… really was a magical once in a lifetime trip across the Sahara with the awesome Berber peoples... Thinking of those cinematic, vast landscapes and drumming and singing around the camp, oh, and the gorgeous camels! Truly a trip I won’t forget along with a fantastic group of people and new friends. I will be back! Highly rated!
