Wheeldon farm cottages. We have just got back from 2 weeks holiday at Wheeldon Farm Cottages. We are a family of 7 and stayed in Foxglove Cottage.||What a fantastic place with a lovely owner Jim, and Caroline who works there. 2 of the most genuine people I have ever met and they will do anything for you, just ask. ||The cottage itself is beautiful. It is what I would class as rustic in design with plenty of space. There was plenty of room for the 7 of us and it would hold 8 people as it is advertised for with ease.||There is everything there you need including a dishwasher in the kitchen, shared laundry and 3 bathrooms (1 with a bath and 2 with a shower.) There is so much outside space which is safe for both dogs and children to run around and explore all day if you don't fancy going out. An indoor swimming pool that both of our grandchildren absolutely loved. The indoor motorbike track is also great fun for the youngest to oldest, members of the family, and all kit is supplied so it is very safe. Along with the pool, their is a games room and a gym plus plenty of walks straight from the doorstep||The cottages are around 5 miles from Totnes but it takes around 20 minutes to get there due to the narrow windy roads. However, it is a journey worth making and the distance doesn't matter as, after a few days you get into the Devon pace of life. Very laid back and no feelings of having to rush.||The cottages are off the beaten track so to speak, and once there, you have a feeling of safety, even for the youngest members of your family.||I would recommend Wheeldon Farm Cottages to anyone wishing to stay in beautiful accommodation and to explore Devon. We will certainly be going back to visit Jim and Caroline. They both feel like friends now and we are looking forward to going back soon. I cannot think of any negatives and will say to anyone, just go and have a beautiful holiday in a gorgeous part of England. ||Also if you don't fancy cooking, just have a word with Caroline who will cook you a family meal of your choice so that when you get back from a day on the beach etc, you only need to open the fridge, take the meal out and warm it up.||A big thank you to both Jim and Caroline for being so welcoming and making our holiday. We will see you both soon and the dogs of course.

We had a well-earned rest here. The accommodation was exactly what we needed for a group of six adults. Well maintained and clean as were the pool and games room. Jim and Justine were very friendly and an incredibly helpful team making our stay at the cottages stress free.||The location is good with the south Devon coast just a short drive away. We were very lucky with the weather and spent plenty of time on the beach. We also visited Dartmouth and Paignton which were not too far away. There are some lovely pubs and restaurants locally. We tried The Avon Inn which was good but our favorite was Turtley Corn Mill where we had an excellent meal.||We would highly recommend a stay at the cottages

The cottage was clean, well-stocked and quirky. The welcome was warm and friendly. The farm itself sits in glorious countryside that is great for walking and exploring or just sitting and taking in the sun. ||The relaxed vibe seems to permeate everything as even the guests in other cottages on site were very friendly and helpful.||The pool and games room/gym meant plenty to do on site as well.||Many people we spoke to had stayed here repeatedly. We can see why, and will likely be joining them. I think if our dog could vote she'd be in favour of living there forever!!

Wheeldon farm cottages - we have just spent 2 weeks on holiday in Foxglove Cottage. It's an absolutely fantastic place. Jim, one of the owners, and Caroline both went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The cottage was very rustic in looks but clean and has everything you need, from a dishwasher in the kitchen to 3 bathrooms. There is something there for the whole family, from an indoor heated swimming pool and games room, to a gym and motocross centre. It is 5 moles from Toynes, and there are places of interest accessible in every direction. There are all different beaches nearby, including one that allows dogs and also disabled friendly beaches. I would stay at Wheeldon Farm Cottages again, in a heartbeat. A beautiful part of the country and a fantastic place to stay. We will definitely be returning. Many thanks for making out holiday special.

Stayed in the Farmhouse, a beautiful, quirky and characterful property on the Wheeldon Farm that the whole family loved. Owners were not intrusive, but really just let you feel so welcome and treat the accommodation as a home from home experience. Relaxed atmosphere, quiet (yes quiet, couldn't even hear the motorbikes which are situated in their own off road dirt arena on the locations site), gorgeous sunsets, private. On site facilities also excellent, the indoor pool, games room and our 8 yr old boy who has autism had a taster session on the bikes and thoroughly enjoyed it with very simple, clear instructions from Andy who made it all fun and gave him such confidence to give it a try, which he did brilliantly. Great location for going out too.

Great location for a family holiday:
We were part of a 7-strong family looking for somewhere off the beaten track that is child and dog-friendly with a touch of adventure for the 12-year old among us. And we found it here!
For the 18-month old and the 3-year old there was open grass, an indoor heated swimming pool, dogs aplenty and a spring to play in.
For the 12-year old (and those of us with a child inside) there was a zip-wire, table tennis, pool, table-football and Sky TV (with sports subscription!). And an onsite off-road motorbike centre with free tasters for young ones which included training ... brilliant!
For the dog, there were some brilliant walks straight from the site, without going on any road.
The accommodation was clean and well-maintained and, overall, I thought the cost to be very reasonable.
The reception was great - very friendly and keen to help - thanks to Jim and Justine (and Andrew).
WiFi was available, but we had problems with continual disconnections, especially with the iPad. Android phones and lap-tops seemed to cope better with the setup. Be aware that the mobile phone system in rural Devon is very poor, so that even if you can get a signal, data connections are near impossible.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week here and would consider returning.

Poppy cottage was a really good sized cottage big enough for a family of 6 or possibly more.||The downstairs rooms were spacious and the kitchen housed every utensil and appliance that you may ever need. Whilst there we had an issue with the fridge freezer which was replaced the very next day with a brand new one. ||The upstairs of the cottage was really nice with three good size bedrooms one with an en suite and a family bathroom. Justine and Jim were more than helpful.||The added benefit for us was the accessibility of a washing machine and tumble dryer as with a new baby the washing never ends. No dirty washing to take home a bonus.||Great for dogs although our little jack Russell wasn't too keen on Billie one of the site dogs. ||We used the pool facilities once but it was a bit too cold for us. We also used the games room facilities.||The cottages are a bit of a trek off the main road but we soon got used to this.||The sky at night was amazing as we were so far from any electrical interference plenty of stars in abundance.||Would certainly recommend.

We just spent a lovely week in Foxglove cottage. We were a party of 5 (2 grandmas, 13 yr old, 1 couple) and 2 dogs (17.5 and 20 mo). The weather was pretty grim most of the time but we were able to walk the lanes on the farm with the dogs and the cottage was cosy and warm, even without heating on. We had enough space for 5 of us but I could imagine the 8 it caters for would be a little crowded depending on the makeup of the party. The kitchen corner is quite small, and I don't think there would be room for more than 5-6 to sit in the living room (unless there were littlies in the group), but the rooms are nice and comfortable and everything is clean. We did keep running out of crockery, mugs and cutlery and a bigger pan would be useful, as would a second frying pan. Due to the weather we did a lot of eating in and drinking tea! The pool was nice enough but a little chilly and quite dimly lit so I didn't use it as much as planned but my partner and son enjoyed it. We had fun in the spacious games room playing ping pong and pool. Our private patio was nice when it stopped raining but it never got nice enough to barbecue on, which was a shame. Upon arrival we were greeted by the lovely owners and their young dog Billy who tormented our young dog ceaselessly for a couple of days until they worked out how to both be polite. By the end of the week Billy was a firm friend and I was tempted to smuggle him home! My son had his complementary motorcross session and we joined him (Grandmas spectating!!) for a lesson with the fantastic, patient and very knowledgeable Andy. He certainly knows his job and reassured a very tense me that I was NOT likely to run him over despite him walking in front of my bike after I had zoomed at the wall! My son said he felt like a million pounds after our track time and was so thrilled to have had a go. It was a brilliant morning and I would very much recommend it. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming, we were happy with our week and the grandmas also had a lovely time. Our phones didn't really get a signal all week and the internet was a bit patchy. There was a ladder outside my 81 yr old mother's room and she tried to convince me that she had had a fella in during the week lol. So we all left smiling 😉
