Second year camping here. It’s a good campsite with basic facilities. The pool is small and sort of warm. Toilets and showers are adequate but the site itself is well laid out with excellent access to the red squirrel trail for easy links to Sandown/Shanklin and Newport if you want to walk/cycle that far. There’s nothing really on site apart from the pool and a slide and two swings but the kids always have a good time.

I was not sure what the site would be like but took a chance and so glad it did. The site was recently took over and is being ran by Barbara who is an absolute star. Even in the week we stayed, we could see improvements occurring around the site without it causing disruptions. ||We are 2 families in 2 vehicles (motorhome & campervan) with a dog each. We asked if we could be located away from the main walk ways due to the dogs and Barbara sorted it out no problem. ||There is a lovely walk around the outskirts of the site and a nature reserve across the river behind (access by a pedestrian bridge at the site of campsite) if you wish to walk further. Lots of dog bins so you need not worry about that either. ||There are water taps (both drinking and gray waste) in each field, (so close to pitches) and 2 toilet and shower blocks, (plus washing facilities and chemical disposal areas) each located the top of the fields one on each side on the site/reception. ||There was no shop at the time of our stay but I know Barbara is on the case so that will change within the next month so I doubt that will not be an issue by summer. (There is also Tesco Express 1.4 miles down the road)| |There is an outdoor heated pool on site which was just what the kids needed. (You cannot let kids in without a parent too).||The shower toilet block has some pros and cons. They are old but clean and work very well, One toilet flush is all you need. The showers could do with a large bench (currently hanging hooks and a small fold down chair). | Huge plus here - the showers are free and are on taps so you don't have to keep hitting a damn button every 30sec and you control the temperate, aaaarh bliss, constant hot water. Wonderful. ||I will be returning next year and honestly can't wait. ||Thank you for making it such a good holiday for my family and friends. |

We stayed for a week at the end of May and had a fantastic time. Although a little tired in places, looking at previous reviews it's clear that some considerable effort has gone into improving the facilities. The staff were brilliant! Friendly, helpful and accommodating making our stay just that little bit better. The pool was open and warm which our daughters loved. We stayed in one of the ready camp tents which are well equipped and comfortable and although not exactly luxurious, have just about everything one needs for a successful "camping" trip. We are hoping to return the same time next year and would definitely recommend it to others.

What an amazing site, well maintained, clean and quiet - even in school summer holidays, no noise policy after 11pm is great. Only marked down on toilet/shower facilities as although water is extremely hot and shower powerful, the toilet /shower block is very tired and really needs an update. That said, like the site, it is kept clean. Swimming pool is an added bonus which was loved by our family!

We stayed 2 weeks with family including children and had a wonderful experience. On arrival the receptionist was very caring and helpful. The site is exceptional clean and well maintained. The toilets showers and washing machines were well maintained every day. The heated pool was a roaring success. Lots of walks from site. We will return to camp again.

Awesome stay - We stayed in a group with C&CC members in June in order to attend the IOW festival, it was one of our nicest camping experiences..... The facilities are immaculately clean (I appreciate they are older but there could not be more of them & they could not be cleaner or better serviced), the staff are super friendly and helpful, the site was spacious and peaceful with lovely members greeting us and sharing their tips for the area! We loved it, as for the massive heated outdoor pool on the hottest day of the year with ice creams next door in the shop, what more could you like. The pitch was lovely, shaded enough to keep everyone cool and tucked away so we had amazing privacy. Nothing was too much trouble for the team on site. Thanks for a great stay, we will be back!

Lovely site, grounds well looked after, friendly, helpful staff, plenty of spaces with electric hook-up & water points. Nice heated pool. Shower/toilet blocks cleaned regularly, plenty of sinks for washing up, nice vanity area with mirrors & electric sockets and although there was a coin operated hairdryer it was out of order all the time we were on the site. Family shower rooms, ironing board with coin operated iron. Two coin operated washing machines and driers. Ping-pong table undercover. Kids play area. Nice little fishing lake and stretch of the river Yar. Barrier locked from 11pm to 7am, so if you have an early ferry to catch remember to park outside the barriers the night before. Bus stop a long walk from site, so would suggest bicycles. Nice pub (Yarbridge Inn) just over a mile walking distance from the site, which has a bit of an uphill climb both ways, but book a table in advance as can be very busy. Not ideal for back packers with a small tent as weather wasn't great while we were there & the backpackers tended to take over the vanity area in washrooms to cook food and watch films on their phones as they didn't have a dedicated area for them in adverse weather conditions. Would definitely recommend and return to this site again.
