I've loved this little town for over 60 years, pretty quiet and filled with great food outlets. The outer harbour and carpark has suffered badly from the recent storms and the out harbour wall is severely damaged. The famous stoney beach area has been hammered and pushed up into the carpark.

Aberaeron yacht club is situated right at the mouth of the river Aeron and entrance to one of the prettiest stone walled harbours in the UK. The yacht club offers sailing and rowing events throughout the year. Racing is now mainly in cruisers, racing from 'round the cans' to longer passage races to various ports up and down Cardigan Bay and a not to be missed Irish passage race. The programme starts as soon as the boats are lifted in to when they are craned out in October.

Tonight a fund raiser for Newquay lifeboat station. Music and pig roast, raffles and auctions. Great atmosphere, very good bar staff. Well done to all concerned.

Unfortunately they are doing structural improvements to the port, so we never stopped long.
