We have hired vehicles from Abacus motor home hire in Andover for over 10 years. Not sure if they have had a change in management but the customer services has drop drastically.
We hire each year for Glastonbury where we cannot have electric hook and they hire knowing this! We are advised each year to run the vehicle for an hour to keep the leisure battery topped up. This year we did this but by day 3 the fridge started to beeping that the battery was low so we ran the vehicle for 4 hours, note the vehicle also had solar panel and was told this would keep everything topped up! That evening we came home to the fridge beeping every two minutes, so we called the out of hours number and left a message. An hour passed no reply so tried again, the fridge is still beeping, so we had a sleepless night as no instructions on how to turn this off or turn the fridge off. After a night of no sleep we called the out of hours number again not reply eventually getting hold of someone at 10:00 who was as useful as a chocolate teapot and offered no solution as he didn’t know the van! We walked onto site to get some mobile connection and found out ourselves how to disable the fridge, this also would mean that the perishable items in the fridge would have to be binned!!
Upon returning they have rejected my complaint about both the lack of call back from the out of ours number as it wasn’t a life or death issue. Nothing is listed in the hand book to say that they would only call back if the deemed a ‘real’ emergency. No offer to refund for the perishable items or a good will gesture for the sleepless night. We pay a highly increased rental price Glastonbury which we happily pay but my expecting would be that we in return have a service that meets the huge cost. Such a shame as we have not had this in past years and very much feel like I have been fobbed off. As simple and low cost good will gesture would have met my need but no they clearly do not care about repeat customers!

Absolutely five star service across the board from the ladies in reception to Greg in sales and the technicians. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. A great company to do business with.

Happy with experience, the team do work hard to assist, new management doing there best to turn things around, just a couple of personal issue hence 4 stars. But I would say if wasn’t to the odd hiccup I would have Given 5 stars

We had a fantastic week away in our hired Abacus Motorhome! The team there were so friendly and helpful and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anybody looking to hire. Hand over was great as was the hand back, excellent company! We will be back!

Hired an Adria Matrix 600 for four days to try out 'motorhomes'. The whole Abacus experience was excellent from start to finish. I turned up unannounced to investigate hiring and was shown over a suitable motorhome which I later hired on line. Reception, handover and the quality and cleanliness of the vehicle was excellent. Nothing went wrong on the trip and the return handover was equally excellent. Thanks to the team at Abacus for a great experience. We will return to hire again!

Excellent company, would definitely recommend! They were really friendly, the motorhome was exactly as expected, really high spec, abacus send useful videos beforehand which go through how everything works. It’s the first time I’ve driven/stayed in a motorhome so that was very handy. They’re easy to contact by phone & email and keep in touch from booking through to picking up. Looking forward to the next hire!

Customer service reaches a different level when dealing with Abacus….. Our recent dealings with Stewart & his team whilst hiring our first motorhome was simply first class. I wanted to take my wife to Scotland to celebrate her 60th birthday & from the moment we approached Stewart we felt we were in the hands of a truly professional organisation…… I would recommend anyone to contact Abacus & their team for any vehicle requirements….
