DO NOT RECOMMEND. Unreliable, unpleasant and dangerous experience. Extremely late (50 mins). 2 wrong turns. Driver stopped to urinate on hard shoulder. Driver using mobile phone in hand while driving. Company lied in response to this review. Notably they haven’t apologised or recognised any fault.

Details:
- Airport collection, I landed at 21:20 exactly. Not 21:30.
- I was ready at collection point 21:36
- Driver was 50 minutes late despite having my flight details in advance and me phoning when I landed.
- I was in the car 22:10. He also said he would only be 15 minutes late. This was at 9pm no traffic. Not ideal to be outside late October at 10pm waiting in the cold. Glad my family wasn’t with me.
- Driver took a wrong turn twice, a 30 minute journey took 70 minutes as we back tracked along the m4 twice. It was clear on the sat nav and road signs what the diversion should be.
- In the end I had to use my own phone to guide the driver. He was regularly using his phone in his hand/lap
- Driver stopped unsafely on the hard shoulder on the M4 at 11pm to urinate, leaving me in the car in a vulnerable position.
- All in all, a 30 minute journey took over 2 hours at 9pm at night.
- I was not out of the car until gone 23:15 despite Company claim

I have been using A1 taxi for five months now i travel for work alot and fly very frequently so i am at airports heathrow gatwick ect. I have never been let down by the A1 taxi.The drivers are polite and helpfull they drive in a very calm manner and the prices are very good overall i rate the service 5star i would highly recommend using if u want a stress free journey

Please, please, please, save yourself the agony and do not use this company. I had an important journey to make early in the morning, and had booked and payed for my Taxi in advance. The driver arrived 50 minutes late, by which time I had missed my train to Gatwick, and subsequently would have missed my flight if I hadn't paid £80 for an Uber to take me straight to the airport. I am a young girl, and standing around on the streets at 4am, waiting for a Taxi that couldn't be bothered to show up on time, left me vulnerable and with very few options to rectify the situation. They did not reimburse me for the train that I didn't even get on, nor the £80 Uber fee I had to pay due to their error. The entire ordeal was outrageously expensive and stressful thanks to this company's sloppy and irresponsible behaviour - do not give them your service.
EDIT: My booking was CONFIRMED via text and email, and nowhere during the process of booking on the website was I told I had to call instead. I had no reason to believe that the taxi wouldn't be there.

Pre-booked for a train to plane journey in the early hours. THEY DIDN'T SHOW UP and are not picking up phone. Missed train. What exactly are you supposed to do at 4am when you have a flight booked? NEVER, NEVER, NEVER RELY on this sham of a company.

Avoid this company! Booked them for airport service. first taxi driver was so tired he couldnt keep his eyes open while driving! swerving between lanes, using the fast lane but driving very slow. we had to keep talking to him to keep him awake but this driver didnt know much english so it was a challenge! absolutely terrible as we had our children with us too. the second taxi we booked coming from the airport was using his phone while driving! also, he knew there was closure on m25 but didnt prepare in advance. he had to stop on the hard shoulder to turn on his map on his phone. he had no mount for his phone so he kept looking down on his lap. he kept missing turns, so we had to use our own phone and had to direct him. please avoid this service. we felt very unsafe!
