Kat created an amazing expedition for us to Santa Cruz and Isabela islands in Galapagos. She coped well with my many questions both before and during the trip! Highlights included Snorkelling with a sea wolf (lion), penguins and turtles off Cape Rosa in the lava ‘tunnels’, gawking at the views on Bartalome Island and being mesmerised by the view and sounds of the sea from our Iguana Crossing hotel balcony. Top travel tips: flying on a small plane rather than speed boat transfers between islands is more expensive but far more comfortable with amazing views. Avoid Avianca flights from mainland to Galapagos if at all possible - they are the least caring crew we’ve ever experienced! Allow yourself ‘days off’ on the Galapagos islands with no trips planned so you can take time to soak up just ‘being there’. We missed out day visits to Quito and Guayaquil and actually think this is a good idea for those who really want to soak up Galapagos wildlife and geology - spend your time on the islands ? Take lightweight long sleeved safari shirts (that cover your hands) with a collar, lightweight trousers and a hat as the sun is searing!

I had a tailor-made trip, fitting around other commitments. Tom at Andean Trails made sense of my complicated logistics and it worked out really well - I had a truly fantastic holiday. Other companies I had contacted didn't offer the same flexibility, but for me I was able to travel when I wanted and visit all the places I wanted, joining groups for a few days at a time and also have my own time. The local guides were great. I'd recommend Andean Trails for traveling around Peru!

I organized a mountaineering expedition to Huascaran National Park in Peru through Kathy at Andean Trails. Everything went amazingly! Kathy was very informative and responsive to any questions that I had. Our guide and associated company were very skilled, professional, and nice. We can't wait to go back for another trip!

The trip highlight was the Kaieteur falls, the tour guides where ok, the food was satisfactory and not appropriate for hiking, overall the trip was ok but not very well organized as we spent lots of time either waiting or on the road.

I booked a mountaineering trip to Equador through Kathy at Andean Trails. Kathy was very responsive, and got everything in organised quickly as I was booking at short notice. The trip itself was awesome, and the local company and the guides used were very experienced.

Andean Trails organised a trip to Peru for the Food Security MSc programme I coordinated. The trip was amazing. We wanted to have a case study so that we could discuss the food system and the country's food security status with the students. We visited a variety of food supply chain stakeholders and agricultural communities. It was an eye-opener for many of the students. Thank you! We will be back next year.

We have just returned from 2 weeks in The Galapagos which we organised with Tom. This was our fourth trip with Andean Trails and as usual everything was great. We had a fabulous time, enjoying a variety of boat tours needed to fully appreciated this wonderful area. All the tours were different providing us with the opportunity to see as much as possible. We chose to island hop as we wanted to experience life on the islands rather than be confined to a cruise. This was definitely the right choice for us as we had plenty of free time to explore on our own. Thank you Tom, this trip certainly lived up to and exceeded our expectations.
