I travelled two hours from London to Bristol to view a property that was advertised as a long term let. When I arrived, I was told they didn’t know how long the let would be and it turned out to only be six months. This was misleading and showed a lack of due diligence. When I asked if they had any other suitable properties, I was simply told to check the website. The whole experience gave the impression of a disorganised and unmotivated agency. I would not recommend using them to find a property.

Double-check what you’re being signed up for and the cancellation fees/details.
My daughter thought she had to sign up for an expensive utilities package as part of the paperwork, as it was not made clear, and then the same estate agent was very unresponsive when she wanted to cancel. It’s been a very costly lesson to cancel this - £250 is a lot for students to have to pay, but the package was SO expensive that this pays for itself in a couple of weeks!

UNIVERSITY STUDENTS STAY AWAY!

Even as a first-time renter with little prior viewing experience, I knew this experience was beyond unacceptable. BPC cancelled my viewing just an hour before it was due to happen, after I had already spent over £100 and 4 hours on transport to get here.

I attended a previous viewing with BPC earlier and they pressure prospective tenants—especially young university students—into paying large holding deposits as fast as possible, giving barely any time to consider the property. It felt like a shady cash grab rather than a legitimate renting process.

When I called to get clarification, I was met with a complete lack of care. The level of service felt extremely amateur and it was obvious they had no interest in helping.

Bristol Property Centre is untrustworthy, exploitative and completely lacking in professionalism. I would only ever recommend students to STAY AWAY from BPC.

Stay away from this company. My partner and I had booked a viewing a week in advance, and after receiving a confirmation email of our viewing the night before, so after spending >£100 on travel between us, we left the house at 4:45am to get to Bristol for our 10am viewing only to be told 1 hour before the viewing that it had been cancelled and the let agreed.

Before this we had viewed one other property with this company and the very day after viewing, they were demanding a holding deposit be put down on this property in the next 24 hours else we were to lose it.

This company's practices are predatory towards new university students and I will take every opportunity to push peers and other students AWAY from this company as the poor and pushy communication is exactly what should be avoided.

From one student to the next, please do not use this company for anything ever.
