We had the privilege of experiencing Kent in the most enjoyable way, thanks to the expertise of our charming tour guide, Anthony. Given his local upbringing and his unparalleled education on the subject matter, we felt like we won the tour guide lottery. This, in addition to his being the perfect English gentleman, and his peaceful and personable demeanor, left us feeling like we had the most quintessential Kent experience. The Battle of Britain experience, the white cliffs of Dover, Canterbury, and many hidden gems off the stereotypical tourist path left us feeling like we might want to unpack our bags and stay. The Best of Kent Tour was an absolutely amazing day trip! There was truly something for everyone from exploring historical churches dating back to AD 597, to visiting Freehouses built in the 1300s. We enjoyed a unique view of the White Cliffs of Dover from a local’s perspective, with just the right touch of military history along the way. The journey through charming villages some once home, and others still the current home, of famous inhabitants added even more character to the day.

Our guide, Anthony, was wonderful: friendly, knowledgeable, and full of fascinating stories that brought Kent’s history to life. A personal highlight for me was traveling along the same village roads that my ancestors would have known in the early 1900s an unforgettable experience.

I highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting a rich and memorable look at Kent!

Host and Guide, Anthony, is extremely knowledgeable and familiar with all that make Canterbury, Kent, and the White Cliffs of Dover the sought-after travel destinations that they are. This tour is unique and distinguished from others in the area largely because it takes roads less traveled to incredible and historical highlights, while simultaneously providing a friendly, hospitable, relaxed, and personal experience. Anthony’s new and comfortable, large-windowed touring van is ideally suited for the well-planned tour of the area’s highlights. While not missing any of the routine sites that other similar tours of the area customarily visit, Anthony takes his guests beyond the norm to stop and explore additional amazing places such as St. Augustine’s Abbey and St. Martin’s Church, as well as a drive through charming villages, country cottages, and stunning estate homes. Our comprehensive stop to view the White Cliffs of Dover was made at a vantage point known as “Hellfire Corner,” which was not only a strategic defensive battery position during WWII, but also provided perhaps the best viewing spot for us to see Dover’s famous White Cliffs. Throughout the entirety of our 3-hour tour, we never once encountered a commercial tour bus or any other organized touring group. Our adventure was personal and uncrowded. My wife and I highly recommend this special and unique experience.

My cousin and I are so pleased to have taken this tour with Anthony. He is prompt, friendly and so knowledgeable about history and the area. And he was always willing to answer any question, stop on a dime when we needed a photo, and change course here and there along with our interests. Highly recommend!!

Very enjoyable tour made so by the vast amount of knowledge and information provided by Anthony.
Took our group to many worthwhile historical parts of the city and explained their historical significance.
Only small improvement I would make would be to extend the time available.
Anthony ended the tour by providing many good suggestions on other sights to see and places to eat and drink.
Recommend using this tour and his knowledge of the city.
