I booked a taxi at 8:02am, with an ETA of 8:26am, but no car ever showed up. I called the office at 8:20am, only to be told it would be another 10–15 minutes because of school runs. I wasn’t too worried at that point since I didn’t start work until 9am — but I did explain that customers should be given accurate times instead of being misled, as people rely on taxis to get to work on time.

By 8:35am, still no taxi. When I called again, a different person told me it would now be “over half an hour” due to a motorway accident. This accident happened at 6am, so the first person I spoke to would have already known about it, yet failed to mention it. Instead of being upfront, they kept changing the story and still didn’t give me an exact time for when a taxi might arrive.

There was absolutely no sympathy or apology for the fact I was now going to be late for work. I had to cancel the booking altogether and ask my mum — who lives 15 minutes away — to get herself and my baby brother ready just to drive me, otherwise I’d have been even later. In the end, I arrived 30 minutes late to work, all because this company couldn’t be honest with me from the very first call.

This isn’t the first time I’ve had issues with them either. Their drivers are often reckless, speeding and cutting it close to accidents, and the staff on the phones do nothing but lie to customers over and over again. It’s clear they care more about chasing income than delivering a reliable service.

I will never use this company again and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone who actually needs to get somewhere on time.

We were picked up at home by the lovely Liz from Action Cars of Pontefract. She drove us to East Midlands Airport and she also collected us from the same Airport when we got back from our holiday. She is a very good driver and and she was very helpful. Also, the car was spotlessly clean and tidy.

Unfortunately this wasn’t the first bad experience that we have experienced. We ordered a minibus on the app and they had sent a car, had to call up and they said they'd send a second car. This made half of us late for a train and almost lost 80 pounds in tickets. We were told to pay 20.81 for a minibus and then made to pay 16.50 per car even-though we had originally ordered a minibus. Then dropped the other half of us at the wrong location twice. So disappointing

Usually always use action cars with no issue, pre-booked last night at around 20:00 to be picked up at 06:50 to get to work for 07:15. yes they rang and let me know that they were waiting to allocate a car at about 07:00 o’clock but now I’m gonna be late to work due to this. I will not be using them again.

So I just moved to ackworth from Wakefield and was clueless of taxis here so asked a few neighbours all said action cars so thought ok il give them a go,I did get a few quotes and others were double the price, anyway I got txts keeping me updated , the driver was bang on time and also got a lovely chatty drive , would definitely recommend, perfect thanx

me and 5 of my friends had booked a mini bus for the 6 of us to Castleford train station as we were going to a concert in Manchester. Instead, when the taxi had turned up they had sent us a 5 seater car which could only fit 4 of us in so 3 of us had gotten in that taxi and the other 3, including me, had to wait for a second one to be dispatched which had made us later than we anticipated. First problem. Secondly, the driver had taken us 3 to the bus station rather than the train station delaying us further, and after this he had taken us to a secure car park thinking it was the train station and then FINALLY, we had gotten to the train station as the train pulled up a minute after it was due. On top of all that, we had to pay the 16 pound fair twice, even though the 2 cars wasnt our plan and it was their mistake. i am appalled with this service.

I regularly prebook from here and they're always great. Had a huge blip in my brain today and had to change the address several time and the driver (car nr 4) was incredibly understanding and kind - thank you so much!
