Over the past 10 years or so, HMRC has sneakily changed the terms of my pension, inheritance and grandsons student loan. It is outrageous that the government of a country can stoop this low.

As if charging me 50%+ tax for over 40 years of risking my own savings and contributing to the economy of a growing community isn’t bad enough, they resort to trickery.

I have tried contacting their live chat and phone number and just get told I am 99+ in the queue. It’s an embarrassment to have as a governing body.

I've be on hold now for nearly 45 minutes and losing the will to live. The whole system is a joke! I'm trying to get a refund but it's not working for me on-line! Absolutely disgusting service! And I had to give a star before being able to Post - which is far too generous!

How one star even looks too big here. What a disgusting company this has become. To put HM at the front of it only makes 'her majesty' look as pathetic as the call wait times are here.

An hour on hold, no comment whatsoever as to where in the queue you are (you could hang up and be one minute away, or four hours away) the same message and song repeated every five seconds. Can't process your tax correctly, can't rectify their pathetic antiquated system issues, and can't answer the bloody phone to try and help. Beyond a joke, beyond fixing, beyond angry.

anything to do with HMRC is a total joke. Going round in circles. Can't log in, can't use the authenticator, can't get an answer. On hold for an hour then got a very patronizing person who told me to do exactly what I'd been doing for 2 hours. THEN HUNG UP ON ME. Even 1 star is too many

What an absolute joke of a company, when they want money from you they will threaten you with debt collectors, when they owe you money they will extend, extend and extend, add as many delay tactics as possible, totally incompetent, totally useless acting on behalf of HM, whom ever runs this debacle should be ashamed and resign, I have a turtle that would do a better job and be quicker!

Just spent 65 minutes on hold, at my cost, then a man answered, we had quick conversation and he asked me to hold while checked my file. While I was waiting for him to return, I got "thank you for calling, goodbye" and line dropped. The call was needed as they had made an error in the first place thst couldn't be resolved on the website, it will cost me more money. I know have to go through that again tomorrow, more cost, none of which I can claim back.
Frustrating!

Been ringing these for 2 weeks. All I need is proof of national insurance so I can accept a job offer. W weeks you haven't answered the phone. I have waited for over an hour on numerous calls to be cut off and when I ring back, I get "we are all busy ". Useless service aimed at frustrating you

If I could give this 0 stars I would. Unable to find help I need online. Government gateway doesn't work. When calling I listened to a robot for 10 minutes then it hung up on me saying it was too busy and they were unable to take my call. How does anyone ever speak to a human about nuanced cases?! Livid.
