Waited for a better review ,experience since having 2.2 set up and a few updates to firmware.
Obviously cost is one thing ,but size and sound quality is key here.
Many now go for the soundcore ,tribit range for boom sound. Here you'll get amazing sound , even better on speaker placement and your surroundings.
The latest updates have an improved led display and I have no issues pairing.
No need to wait for sub 4 . I hear that some say gain 1 is too low gain2 too high. I use a seperate volume hub for bass gain ,using level 2 but able to pitch where its just right. Only flaw really is the the ability not to control bass /sub via the new app for the 4's but not a major problem.
Yes ,it csn be costly but they're so much better than buying a boom size speaker ,in the same price range . These have tweeters, minirig doesn't yet offers a hifi sound you can't get from these other speakers and sound separation, once paired, you'll realise the difference.
Always worth going to the store/factory in Bristol and meet the friendly staff to get a demo .
Totally worth the investment and check their soundcloud page for mixes , DnB , house and hiphop etc all covered and worth a listen .

I have used Minirig speakers since the Minirig 2 was released. I love their speakers; they truly are built for audiophiles. They include Bluetooth in the speaker, but personally, I use my own Bluetooth DAC and plug it in via 3.5mm cable because Minirig is known for using one of the best zero lag connections via 3.5mm. The sound is phenomenal. Battery life on the speaker outlasts battery life on my Bluetooth DAC; I'm getting several hours at volumes between 30 percent and 50 percent, but that's difficult to measure when you have THREE different volumes to consider (the actual buttons on the speaker, the source device, and the Bluetooth DAC). I love the new design with recessed buttons and a LED array for battery life (shake it) and VU meter. I primarily use this at work as a school bus driver and have found the perfect spot for it due to its compact size, and even found an excellent carry bag for my entire setup. I want to buy another one to experience the stereo sound, and if a version 4 of the sub appears, I need that too. Highly highly recommended.

These guys are brilliant. Just bought Minirig 4. It arrived promptly and was completely environmentally packaged - no sellotape whatsoever.

The speaker itself is brilliant. Not only is it component based so individual parts can be replaced / repaired, the sound quality is superb, the app is easy to use. Ibe always used Bose speakers but I'm now a convert to a British made, better made better sounding speaker. Gonna get another one for Christmas! Awesome.

I bought the mini rig because my sister has had one for 10 years (still working) and I was always very impressed with it. so far I'm extremely happy with my mini rig, the quality of sound is perfect! I'm listening to Old 60s, 70s, 80s 90s and today's music via the radio and you tube, hearing sounds, (drums bass keyboards and guitars) that I never noticed before!! . I would highly recommend The mini rig Bluetooth portable speaker.❤️.
My taste in music is extremely varied from Jimi Hendrix Pink Floyd Rolling Stones dire straits to Billie eilish! They all sounds great on the mini rig Bluetooth speaker.(I am a semi pro guitarist played in bands and love music)

Very pleased with the speaker - superb sound and easy to use. However, was disapointed with delivery. Paid for express delivery so it would arrive in time for my wife's birthday but it arrived the day after her birthday.

Great shop in Bristol! And if you’re there, chances are you already know that they make the best portable speakers out there. I brought my friends to buy a 3 piece set, 2 + sub, and we were delighted to be able to try them before buying. Blasted up to the max! They definitely pack a whole lot of sound!! Really good quality speakers and great service! The lady there was very helpful and genuinely friendly. Got some freebies also (extra cables, lanyards, etc) Neat looking new shop, parking available.
