Stayed the evening here as part of a visit to the farmers dog. Delightful charming little bar and hotel. We stayed in the Southrop suite with a wonderful 4 poster bed. Got a great nights sleep. Breakfast was very nice. Would happily stay again

Booked for one night. Burford House is in the centre of town on a beautiful high street in the Cotswold. We had the Wychwood room, this is a large room with four poster bed and en-suite bathroom with bath and separate shower. There were a few little problems, curtains do not close together and the shower door has no bottom runner and the water pressure not the greatest but apart from that we had a fantastic stay. The staff are really cheerful and friendly, the breakfast was perfect, a range of fruit, yogurt, cereal, croissants and juices to help yourself and then a choice of cooked breakfast, we had full English breakfast which was superb, all high quality ingredients and well cooked. I also had a meal in the evening due to my meal at another restaurant not being edible, the meal at the Burford House was excellent, I had chicken fajita sizzler, very tasty and plenty of it. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of having afternoon tea at Burford House Hotel. It was a treat for a friend’s birthday and we had to book in advance. What an amazing experience! The table was beautifully laid with a white clothe, a posy of flowers and exquisite china. The scones and cake were to die for as were the strawberries dipped in chocolate. We were served by Mandy who went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect.|Where this Hotel beats the rest is that the staff are really friendly, yet professional, nothing is too much trouble, and the atmosphere is like having tea with the family you are made so welcome, yet left alone to enjoy your experience. Katie and Andy have done an exceptional job and I would not hesitate to recommend to all my friends. Pearl

Main bar and dining area lovely and interestingly decorated, patio beautifully planted and a pleasure to sit outside.|Unfortunately the staircase landing area was a bit of a mess and carpet needed cleaning, very dirty.|Bedroom furniture looked shabby and marked. Bathroom very basic with rust on bottom of shower and black mouldy marks around tray.|Bed was very comfortable. Curtains a bit dusty and didn’t like to pull them closed as they felt unstable.|Staff on the other hand were lovely and helpful and had a lovely time sitting on the bar having a drink.|Breakfast next morning was absolutely stupendous!!!|Fantastic produce, best sausages I’ve ever tasted, black pudding, lovely thick rashers of quality bacon etc, beautifully presented, best breakfast I’ve had for many years worth coming here just for that !!!|Manager lovely and attentive. |All they need to do is give upstairs a little TLC and it would give anywhere in Burford a serious run for its money. Will definitely be back.

Came here to eat, food was delicious! The pizza was very tasty, chicken curry was good and the beef was cooked beautifully. The outside sitting area was really cozy, and the draught was poured well!

Mattress full of holes, dirty, stained, double bed consisted of 2 singles put together one was higher than the other. No one has called me back to discuss this. Spoke to the girl at reception who was lovely but I’m yet to hear anything and I’ve tried to call to speak to a manger and no luck at all? The place is rather dirty it’s a nice area but I’d avoid this place.

We travelled as a couple for the weekend and our son decided to join us for one night. |At short notice the Burford House found him a room at an exceptional price due to a last minute cancellation. |The room was fabulous, clean, large and all accessories provided. |We ate twice at the restaurant and the Fajitas were the best I have ever had. |Professional staff, helpful and the landlord is a true gentleman, such a pleasure to have met him. |We will certainly stay at Burford House again. |I would highly recommend this hotel and restaurant

Location is the only thing going for this place.
Booked for 50th birthday and stayed overnight. Paid £166 for bed and breakfast.
The room was dirty and worn, carpets filthy, pub dusty.

Food was swimming in oil, and breakfast was inedible. Milk full of lumps, crockery dusty, and flies in orange juice.

Had food bill refunded, evening staff were lovely, but morning host didn't even ask how the room or stay was when we checked out. Missed out on feedback, so here we are sharing online so others dont waste their money.

Only saving grace is the location. Just hope we don't get food poisoning.
