While we were away on our two-week family holiday in the Galloway Forest Park area, we were looking for activities to do and I found Gorge Scrambling with Galloway Canyoning. We decided to give it a go and we had such an incredible time. My partner and our son had never done anything like this before, and they both loved every minute.

Mike and Victoria were both seriously friendly, engaging, and made the trip so much fun for everyone. We enjoyed it so much that we booked a canyoning trip the very next week. On Mike’s recommendation, we chose the Lower Murray’s trip, and again, we had a fantastic time.

I want to say a personal thank you to Mike for the incredible patience, encouragement, and genuine care he showed my son. From the moment we arrived, he took the time to explain everything in a way that made my son feel confident and excited, not nervous. During the activities, Mike was right there offering guidance, cheering him on, and celebrating every little achievement. You could see how much it meant to my son, and it made the whole experience even more memorable for us as a family.

I’ve had a lot of instructors over the years but watching Mike in action was something special. His ability to connect with people of all ages, teach clearly, and inspire confidence while keeping the atmosphere fun and safe is something you don’t come across often, with the occasional little trick thrown in for good measure. His depth of knowledge, attention to detail, and calm, encouraging approach genuinely set him apart from anyone I’ve seen.

Highly recommend Galloway Canyoning to anyone visiting the area. You won’t regret it!

My 14 year old Son had the best time White Water Tubing in the river at Drumlanrig Castle.

The booking process was easy, communication was excellent throughout and Mike and Nat were incredible hosts and Mike especially took really good care of my Son and he loved every minute!

We have just downloaded all of the photos and videos that were taken which surprisingly are all included in the price.

Do not hesitate to book! You will have the best time. Cannot recommend highly enough 😊

Me and my two sons (12&14) had an absolutely fantastic time with Galloway Canyoning. Joe was so professional and friendly. He took us well outside our comfort zones challenging us to do things I never thought we would be able to do. The boys grew in their confidence as well as developing new skills. It was clear that Joe has huge expertise in keeping us safe at all times by his careful and clear instructions and the time he took to make sure everything was done just right. Myself, my wife and 2 sons age 15 and 11 years had a fantastic time canyoning with Mike yesterday. After heavy rain the previous day, Mike did a great job keeping us updated with the water levels and waiting times in order to make the activity safe. We were all a bit nervous and apprehensive beforehand but Mike put us at ease straight away with his good humour and extensive knowledge. From start to finish we had a great time where we experienced slides, jumps and abseils. Our 15 year old came away saying it was the best thing he had ever done! It was also great that Mike took photos throughout the trip giving us great memories to share. We would highly recommend Galloway Canyoning for anyone who wants that adrenaline rush activity. Done the king roberts canyon with Mike! Very fun canyon and a great funny instructor. Plenty of abseils, slides and jumps on this one. I’ll for sure be back and cannot recommend enough!

-Lower Murray’s Half Day Canyoning-

What an amazing day this adventure was!
Firstly I would like to thank, both of our guides for supporting our whole team during our trip, it was amazing. everyone was so supportive and they encouraged everyone to carry on!

Mike was amazing and was so honest about all the jumps, swims and abseils, I can't thank him enough for all the support! You can tell Mike is extremely passionate about his job and probably doesn't see it as a job, but more as a passion to show people these amazing hidden gems.

It truly was an amazing day out, and sometimes scary 😂 but in the end, it was something I would recommend to do and it is something I would take on again. Mike explained there is no rush when taking part and he was happy to go at a pace that suited everyone as he wanted everyone to enjoy their day! and we can't leave Joe out, He was very calm and professional from the start, and he helped us get suited and booted and ready to set off!

The whole day was fully explained and everything was covered safety-wise, there was an informed induction on all your safety gear and how to use it.

I'm also super glad they included photos in this experience as this is something I will always want to remember as it's an amazing experience.

I would 100% recommend this to anyone, no matter how scared you are, give it a go. But I can say you will leave feeling full of confidence no matter how much you push yourself.
