We stayed at one of the Safari Lodges with a hot tub. I stayed with my 6 year old daughter and my wife. Honestly, this was one of the most pleasant stays that I can remember. It so peaceful! It's quiet, scenic and surrounded by nature.

The safari lodges have all of the essential amenities so we didn't really have to pack much other than clothes, some entertainment and a bit of food. The huge bed is so comfortable - there would definitely have been room for the three of us, but our daughter was so excited by the stay that she was adamant that she stay on the pull out sofa-bed. She slept through until the mornings which was a great sign that she too had a comfortable sleep.

The bathroom is huge and the warm showers were so welcome after days hiking and time in the hot tub.

During the days, we took advantage of the beautiful walks on offer in the vicinity. We headed up the Clwydian Mountains one day when the weather was nice. The following day when there was a little rain in the air, we targeted nearby Clocaenog Forest for more of a sheltered walk. After both walks we stopped at the abundant choice of nearby pubs for a drink, before enjoying the evenings in the hot tub or relaxing outside next to the fire pit and Brai (BBQ).

The overall experience and communication with the owners at Pentre Mawr/ Hottub Safari was outstanding. I would definitely recommend this place - it was perfect and the three of us are so thankful of the memories!!

Wow…what a fantastic place to spend a few nights whilst walking the last 35 miles of the Offas Dyke Path…not only was staying on Safari in Wales relaxing, peaceful, comfortable..the hot tub was most welcome after a long days walk…our host Bre went out of her way making our stay just perfect. Not only were there treats in our lodge on arrival she drove us out to the start of all our walks which not only saved us time and the logistics of car shuffling but gave us an opportunity to learn more about the area and Bre herself, who immediately makes you feel comfortable in her company. Highly recommended…and listening to the tawny owls whilst lying in bed was magical!!
