Nice Calmac terminal, excellent train link too.
The port itself is very run down, hard to imagine it passing any sort of H&S inspection.
Handily the port car park is closed making use of the port difficult.
Private enterprise at it's peak.

Last minuet changed my booking to be 2.5hours earlier and from a different town and could not even promise I could get back home. terrible costumer service, just said they cant help and I would have to see what I can find online. No offer of transport links between to the new town they have forced me to travel to and absolutely no compensation.

If you buy a ticket from this lot dost assume you even traveling from the same town never mind time, useless.

We took our car over on the ferry. The terminal and waiting area were not great in terms of facilities. The boats were quite old but fine really, though they could have done with a few more seats. Staff were friendly and pleasant and Arran itself is, of course, beautiful.

Getting a facelift soon with government money. The new Brodick terminal looks good but zero drinking water or hot drinks machine. Lack of foresight and poor design priorities. The website is a disaster for bookings, so hopefully that will get an upgrade too. Friendly, helpful staff.

Fleet renewal upcoming but a result of still having old ships the service is unreliable and cancellations are with short notice. Weather plays a big part too. Allow plenty of time (days) to not have your holidays ruined. Service on board is standard with good food/drinks. Staff is well seasoned and structured.
