Great location and really lovely staff who are clearly passionate about the marine life in Arran, which we really appreciated. That said, the centre itself is quite small with very minimal things to do — we left after about 5 minutes. It seems more geared towards kids, though even then there didn’t feel like there was a huge amount to keep them engaged.

Fantastic, compact, information centre about the great work being done in Lamlash to preserve and regenerate sea life. It's a small space but it is jam packed with information, videos, games, quizzes and more. Plenty for kids to do and it's dog friendly too. I watched some of the videos with the headsets provided and I learned a lot. Really informative and fun. Some great tanks and shells too.

A very interesting experience, especially after seeing a report on BBC's Wild Isles programme on the No Catch Zone in an area around the island. So much information in all age friendly displays together with tanks containing small sea creatures. Friendly staff, no charge but donations requested. A beautiful setting too. Don't miss visiting the centre!

Incredible education & conservation work done here for the stunning Arran coastline sea creatures. They bring a range of rock pool creatures for people to easily see what lives locally, before being released back into their original habitat. Highly recommended

Coast discovery centre is a small facility. But you will find lot of information on the various coastal creatures. Two aquarium hold various shrimps and star fishes. Staff is very friendly and provide a quick overview.

We did the Coast beach scramble at Lamlash, it was fantastic, my 12 year old loved it. We saw crabs, starfish and butter fish and lots of other sea creatures. Great guides and a fun morning out for all the family.

This is a fantastic little aquarium/discovery centre situated in the village of Lamlash on the Isle of Arran. The centre details the conversation of a No-fish zone which is lies just off the coast of Lamlash and around the southern tip of Arran to protect the existing marine species. The idea of the centre comes from local people wanting to protect the local marine wildlife after it was very close to being extinct from over-fishing and commercial in the area. The effort they have made is magical has it appears that the local wildlife appears to be recovering well. The centre has a very short exhibition about the history of COAST and why it was set up and the work they do in the local area and the exhibition talks about climate change and it's effects on the local area. There are fabulous small aquariums which are teeming with some wildlife such as Scallops, Hermit Crabs, Starfish, Shrimps and Anemones to name a few and all of which look very well looked after in these aquariums. There is a small book corner with a decent selection of children's stories for them to read and to be entertained which is a very good touch. There is a gift shop selling a small range of souvenirs at reasonable prices and also a small amount of refreshments at reasonable prices. The Centre also contains information about local trips out onto the Firth of Clyde and also details the recent sightings of the local wildlife which is also very interesting and exciting when you read what has been sighted recently. Overall this is a fabulous and fantastic little attraction to stop off at for a half an hour or so to learn about the excellent conservation work by the local people on Arran Coast. Follow Arran Coast on Facebook for further information about the work they do.
