We finished the Hadrian’s Wall walk and would highly recommend this one. Mac’s adventure did a great job in planning the accommodations and luggage transfer.

I should've put this review up at the time but didn't. Two years ago, with two weeks to go before my trip, a coach company cancelled our NC500 tour because of Covid restrictions. I was frantically trying to ring around to find some other way to tour Scotland as we couldn't change our dates. Macs Adventure came to the rescue. They were able to not only provide us with a tour including all accommodation, but added bespoke details and even booked my ferry trips to Staffa. They absolutely made our trip extra special and showed amazing reliability and flexibility. They put up with quite a few panicked emails I shall be booking with MA again - hopefully for the Camino way!

Mac arranged a perfectly organised hike holiday for me and my dad through the west coast of Schotland. We opted for the Five Coastal Path where we could use a luggage transfer and stay in selected hotels/B&Bs so we could enjoy nature with a hint of luxury for a week.

All accomodations where picked out carefully and were good to excellent. They all had their unique perks such as locations or host quality.

The company planned our trip with us and checked to see if we agreed upon attinary changes when booking such as relocating to two different towns to spend the night due to golf high season leading to full stays. They provided free of charge taxi rides to compensate and bring us back to the planned trail. All information was available in the Macs Adventure app and also send per post in a hard copy format.

One tip to bring the service to the next level is to add a food guide with unique or tasty restaurants mentioned alongside the trail and adding an optional golf package as the trail goes through the heart of golf in Scotland where you walk on a golf course several times. How cool would it be to be able to play some yourself after finishing a hike day? We had the opportunity to do so when we mentioned this to Jackie, the owner of Lillian May B&B in Newport-on-Tay, who took us to the driving range in a heartbeat. This made our trip even more special.

Let’s call this a 4 1/2 star review. Macs does a great job organizing the hotels and luggage transfers. They are also extremely helpful if you give them a call and need some assistance. On one of our hiking days the weather was being extra Scottish and they offered to set up the taxi and even reimburse us for it. That was not expected but it was appreciated. Our only minor complaint is sometimes the route on the map did not agree with the actual route, I’m looking at you Ballinanlloch to Granton leg, and you end up hiking on a very dodgy “path.” Also, if the path is described as having mud underfoot it also is mixed with other stuff from the local cows and sheep. Overall their app was helpful and if you download the maps you’ll never be lost. We will gladly use Macs again.

We had some difficulty with our reservations which was handled very professionally by the quality assurance group at Macs Adventures. We were pleased to see them stand behind their products and services.

We plan to book a hike in Europe with them in 2025. We will be return customers in the future.

We have been blown away by Macs' helpfulness and professionalism. We first booked a Crete tour in 2020. But then the world got COVID. In 2022, when Australia allowed us to travel abroad again, we had a backlog of other commitments, and Max allowed us to defer until 2023. And then in 2023 there was another total curve ball and everything was deferred once more. We *finally* used our credit as a SW Coastal Path walk in 2024, and not only was it brilliant, Macs' accommodation choices were amazing, including high end/high cost choices on our behalf, but as part of our package, like Woolacombe Bay Hotel (spa, sauna, steam room, swimming pool)! We had a fabulous time: well worth the wait. Go Macs!

Our trip on the West Highland Way was very-well organized. The accomodations were mostly very pleasant and the baggage transfer always worked perfectly. Highly recommendable!
