I have visited the Outer Hebrides twice before, as well as Stornoway and the iCentre. The staff was always nice, willing to give advice. A very useful place for any visitor who does not hesitate to enter and ask for advice. And what surprised me the most - when I entered the room and heard Czech from one of the staff! I'm from the Czech Republic and I really didn't expect that... I have to say that everyone in the Outer Hebrides was nice and friendly. I hope to come back sometime.

Popped into the iCentre while visiting Stornoway by boat. We were staying for 2 nights and looking for some info on local busses and how to get to Arnol Blackhouse and perhaps some other local gems without a car. Island bus timetables can be a bit of a challenge to interpret for visitors and as the lady in the bus station wasn’t very forthcoming I was in a need of some help to plan the day. Fortunately the iCentre staff were on hand for this! Not only that they were very helpful with any questions I had, but they already thought of them before I even asked and had brilliant leaflet pre-printed which was showing clearly what busses and when to take if wanting to do a return trip to Arnol, even adding Callanish Stones if wanted! All the staff were very pleasant and the manager lady is so passionate about the islands and about all they have to offer that you can’t help but get drawn into her talk about the place. I am perfectly capable to look up information online, but having it all linked together by a passionate human in front of a map is absolutely irreplaceable. ICentre in Stornoway and its staff is a massive asset to local tourism and I couldn’t have had a successful trip with my children to explore part of Lewis on the local public transport without their wonderful help. Thank you!!!

Popped in for some advice on where we could go walking. Beverley was on duty, and was a goldmine of knowledge mixed with warm humour. We came away after talking about bus timetables as if we were preparing for an exam, and headed to the café to recover from our happy ordeal. 😀
