First class service! I collected my car within minutes of arriving, and when I got to the car, the engine was running to heat up the cabin on a cold winter morning. It was a very nice touch and certainly didn't go unnoticed. Highly recommend.

This company doesn’t even deserve one star. Tried to call but got referred to the online site. This allows you to book any time but doesn’t mean it.

When you book it sends an acknowledgement but says it is not a confirmation. Then you get an email rejecting your booking. No explanation. No offer of a different time.

We ask about a different date but no response. Shockingly shoddy and completely avoidable. All this done in normal island office hours. No excuses for this poor behaviour.

Great service, car was booked to be delivered to Port Ellen for us to collect on arrival on the Kintyre express. A timely arrival and an easy hand over. Car return was also very simple. I'll be using them again....

Organised a vehicle through the internet and discussed on the phone with Scott. We were greeted immediately after the Ferry at Port Askaig and able to drop the car at the Port Ellen station. Great service, communication and convenience. Thanks very much Islay Car Hire

The owner of Islay cars is an absolute sweetheart who very kindly helped us out when a wheel and tyre on our car were damaged beyond repair. Replacement wheel and tyre fitted and pressures on all the tyres checked for a very good price. He couldnt tale a credit card and we didnt have quite enough cash so he just charged us what we had.He even gave us a wheel trim when he saw ours was missing. He was so kind and helpful. He saved us from a real problem at the start of our holiday that could have spoiled the few days we had on Islay. He's a one man operator and finds time to volunteer crew for the lifeboat as well so be patient if he can't get to you straight away.
