We could not have had a better tour than the one Mike gave us. While we weren't sure exactly where we wanted to go or what to see Mike made suggestions and allowed us to pick and choose, based on the weather, where we went. He knew every town and road and made this excursion the highlight of our entire British Isles cruise. He even had the snacks available to keep a 10 year old boy happy!

We booked two full day excursions with H&S Tours and it was glorious! The first day we traveled from Inverness to the Isle of Skye with Mike. He was gracious, knowledgeable, and he brought snacks! The second day Stuart took the four of us to Fort William, stopping at scenic locations along the way. Both guides tailored the tour to our requests and interests. We have joined large bus tours in the past. They can be nice, but we wanted something different this time. It was a luxury to have a private guide, travel at our own pace, and view the places we requested. H&S Tours delivered two amazing days with breathtaking vistas and scenic villages. We recommend them without reservation and would definitely book H&S Tours again.

An amazing day with Kate! We had a last minute ask for a day tour as we had changed plans and had a day free. It was fabulous saw Cawdor Castle, Beauly, quick stop in Loch Ness, cullodan Calva carins and many other fun stops. .

I was so appreciative of Mike (owner) spending the time to find a guide last minute. The hospitality and patience and willingness to ensure we had an amazing day in this amazing country.

If you need a guide you will not be disappointed with the knowledge and experience you will find with H&S Tours!!

My family and I were on a cruise around the UK and Inverness was one of our stops. I wasn't overly excited about this excursion at first but if ended up being one of the greatest excursians for the whole trip. This was primarily due to our guide Stuart. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the history of Inverness...we traveled to loch Ness. Then to castle cawdor. We ended up on the battlefield of Culloden. Prior to the trip I knew nothing about this site...he walked us through the battlefield and told the tale of the British and the Jacobites. It was so detailed it immersed you into the 1800s when the events unfolded. He took us down the back roads and made a few more stops...each with just the right amount of detail and education...truly fantastic and worth it!

We had the pleasure of touring Culloden Battlefield with William as our guide, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. His depth of knowledge and passion for the subject brought the history to life, and the tour was delivered with the perfect balance of professionalism and wit.

William’s storytelling made the complex events of Culloden both accessible and compelling—so much so that we’ve already recommended his tours to friends and family.

We’re hoping to book the Skye waterfall tour with him next… just need to find a wetsuit in my size first! 😄

Hands down, the best part of our trip to Scotland was the decision to take a tour with Historic & Scenic Tours. William (our guide) was fantastic and made the day trip fun, informative and altogether incredibly enjoyable! William went above and beyond to make our day an excellent one, and I have no qualms whatsoever in recommending him and this tour company. I'd definitely suggest you use them over the larger bus-type tours if you really want to get the most out of your time and money.

I should also mention that I found their office staff is _incredibly_ responsive - even late in the evenings (which suprised me). They answered all of my questions and concerns each step of the way.

Do yourself a favor - if you're in the area and want a tour guide, use this company!

We are so happy that we booked a private tour with H&S Tours! It was so much better than getting on and off a bus with 40 other people. We were able to take the time at each place that worked for just us and customize the stops to our interests. Lewis was SUPER! He was friendly, shared a lot of information and made sure we all had a great day. We were back to our cruise ship in plenty of time and felt that we had seen so much (more than a lot of our other stops on our cruise!). I highly recommend booking with H&S and would absolutely do it again!
