Early in July, my wife and I completed a cruise on Red Moon with Scott and Mary. We were originally looking for a barefoot sailing cruise, but we fortunately chose the Red Moon. My interest in photography led me to see if I could get pictures of famous landmarks on the Isle of Skye, which I could duplicate with a land view when we toured Skye by car the week after our Red Moon cruise.
I do not believe anyone could have met our expectations more completely than Scott and Mary. The atmosphere was relaxed and Scott and Mary fashioned an itinerary that met and exceeded they goals I had laid out. His knowledge of the area took us to places, both on Skye and the mainland, which I would never have proposed by relying on the guidebooks I had purchased. The scenery we saw was spectacular and unexpected, as was the wildlife, including seabirds, deer, otters, seals, an eagle, and dolphins and porpoises. We were blessed with a pod of dolphins briefly riding our bow wave.
Mary did the bulk of the cooking with some helpful suggestions from Scott and the meals were universally excellent for the entire time, irrespective of the complexity of preparation, from simple breakfasts to gourmet. Mary’s ability to adapt to our preferences was appreciated and she was able to provide great meals within them.
The main cabin was very comfortable and we had no trouble sleeping at all. I enjoyed the view of the mainmast through the cabin skylight.
I was impressed with Scott’s knowledge of the wildlife in the area and his sharp eye. He was able to pick out activity and potential sighting long before I recognized the potential for them. He was also quick to keep us aware of landmarks and local features.
Red Moon is very well equipped and maintained and Scott was very conscientious in keeping aware of conditions, both of the weather and in the movements of various ships around us. We felt completely safe and comfortable for the whole cruise.
We would certainly schedule a subsequent cruise with Scott and Mary and we would expect the same relaxed and excellent experience, eclectic, calm and filled with unexpected experiences.

An outstanding holiday from start to finish. Such a relaxing way to travel and see Scotland. Scott and Mary are a rare duo who deliver an amazing experience. The food is wonderful. How such cuisine is delivered from the tiny galley is amazing. We loved every minute of it.

Our trip was fantastic. Scott and Mary were great hosts who made us feel welcome and comfortable. Their boat is beautiful and the accommodations luxurious. Mary is as amazing cook. We left from Kyle of Lochalsh, cruised around Skye and Raasay, and did a little hiking on both islands. If we had a chance to travel to the area again, we’d book earlier in the year for a week and hope for better weather so we might see more of the islands.

This was a truly amazing five days. Scott and Mary were the perfect hosts - tailoring our experience to what we were seeking, and doing so exceptionally well.
We found Red Moon to be extremely comfortable, and the food was truly delicious - local Scottish ingredients expertly prepared. Scott was an excellent skipper, judging the weather well and going the extra mile (literally!) to get us to experience some of the best sights. We landed on Canna, Rum and Muck and some of the mainland sea lochs, as well as seeing Skye, Eigg and others.
Above all of this, the real highlight was the wildlife - four eagle sightings, numerous harbour porpoises and seals, otter, and also three pods of dolphins bow riding Red Moon for what seemed like ages - even having been on safari in three Kenyan parks, and visited the Amazon jungle, this was probably our most amazing wildlife sighting ever. All wrapped in an experience of personalised luxury cruising. Thank you Mary and Scott!

I spent 4 amazing nights aboard Red Moon cruises in Loch Hourn hosted by Mary and Scott who were extremely hospitable. Although there were many of us on board I had my own room that was a decent size given the fact I had it full of camera equipment! I loved the fact the location we went had no signal and although I spent most of my time working and filming for the Outdoor Swimming Society I loved the down time and connection to nature. On our trip I saw beautiful scenery, plenty of wildlife including both jumping and lazy seals as well as deer in groups and plenty of birds. Mary did wonders in the kitchen and coped extremely well with my fussy eating habits! Scott helped tremendously with the shoot and even helped us tender along side the swimmers. Although it was a working trip I came back on land feeling refreshed. Many thanks to Mary, Scott and Red Moon for the unforgettable experience!

This was our second expedition on Red Moon and this time we circumnavigated Mull with the attentive services of Mary and Scott for whom nothing seems too much trouble. We saw some wonderful wildlife and enjoyed a wide range of weathers and sea conditions. All part of the experience of exploring this part of Scotland. It was great to be back in the comfort of Red Moon and to enjoy Mary's superb cooking. Both Mary and Scott have eagle eyes and if there is any wildlife to see in the vicinity they will spot it!

We had a fantastic relaxing time. We were totally spoilt. Saw amazing wildlife and had some great walks. We loved Mary’s fabulous cuisine. The boat was so comfortable with great amenities. Mary and Scott are an amazing team - nothing was too much trouble and they are skilled at providing a personalised experience which was second to none.

Red Moon is a fantastic vessel - beautifully equipped and finished to provide really luxury guest accommodation of up to 4 people. She is very comfortable and stable, a great example of a conversion of a historic vessel (built in 1945) given a new lease of life. Features include seemingly limitless hot water, full central heating if needed, very comfortable beds and a fully equipped shower toilet room. Because of her size she is ideal for cruising the area between Skye and the mainland for spectacular mountain views, quiet secluded anchorages, and great wildlife. Throughout, from starting booking to the end of the cruise, the owners/crew Scott and Mary were very helpful. In action on Red Moon, they were so helpful, considerate and kind to two 80+ guests, making our 11 night cruise into an unsurpassed and unforgettable holiday adventure. put together an itinerary taking in our particular requests. Many of the places visited cannot be reached by any road. Each lunchtime and evening we anchored in a different location, generally quiet secluded places The area has great wildlife and photo opportunities.. The food was exceptional, up with gourmet restaurant standards, and varied with no repeats on the dinner menu. We felt that we had made two new friends. in an area of outstanding natural beauty, and in our case with an almost complete absence of midges! Weather was 'mixed west coast' with some lovely sunny days, some grey and cloudy, and one day when it drizzled. In all cases there was so much to see that books remained unread.! During transfer between boat and shore by tender, Scott and Mary were always there with a steadying hand. This was without doubt one of the best holidays we have ever had anywhere in the world, in the company of two lovely people
