A ghastly experience! Stay away from this "hotel" if you have any accessibility issues, claustrophobia, or like to eat a proper breakfast.
We arrived with a group, and we're place on a room, which barely had 40 cm around the bed to the enclosing walls. Asked to change rooms, were told it was not possible on the day (other people from the group asked the same, with complaints ranging from dirty carpets, claustrophobic rooms, and no hot water)
, but the next day they did get us a room, this time a bit more spacious, but with a miniscule shower cabin.
There are no elevators, you need to take your own luggage to 3rd floor (there was no one of the staff available to help).
This place may have had it's glory days (though from the room size I seriously doubt that), but those were more than 20 years ago!
The only saving grace, is how central it is located (not that Dingwall is that big), but it's a shame for such an hotel to mar what's otherwise a beautiful small town

Old-fashioned hotel, but not bad at all. Very comfortable beds, bathroom was clean, hot water was fine and breakfast in the morning was more than enough. There's a pub 2 minutes walking distance from the hotel (The Mallard) for a great night out.

Just had a very enjoyable one night stay at The National Hotel, thought it was a very impressive building with lots of Scottish tradition/architecture ||It was busy, with both tourist and business customers, the room was clean and spacious and I had a fab nights sleep.||I had a small pet dog (Jack Russell) and this was no problem ||Small advisories would be a professional clean on the carpets from reception to first floor would be good, and to further enhance aesthetics… a good carpenter would make the bedroom doors look nice with some panelling!!||I’d have no hesitation in staying again sometime

The only good thing about this hotel is the big supermarket nearby. The room is old, and the bathroom is small and old too. The soundproofing is terrible too, you can hear people talking and walking outside of your room, the front desk is also constantly empty, can’t even borrow a hair dryer. And the WiFi is almost non-existence you can barely get a single from your room or at the lobby. The breakfast has few to no options. It is not worth the price for this hotel.

First, the good points. The hotel is very central and easy to find. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The price was reasonable. The bar has a decent range of drinks,|Now the not so good. The overhead light in my room did not work. Also, I couldn't get the shower to work.

Nothing good to say about this hotel...no one on the desk to let us in so had to call someone, bad start. Get to the room, it was like a sauna....town had not a single decent place to eat so had to drive to Inverness. In the morning, shower time, no hot water. Worst hotel and experience I've had....don't waste your time or money on this place.

Hotel was clean and tidy, staff were good. A liitle bit tired lookig in places and hot water coud be better. Parking wasn't an issue.

I checked into this hotel on 16/06/2025, room 112, no hot water all night, I reported it to the hotel, but it was not resolved, the medical examination was really bad, reminding guests who want to book this hotel to pay attention, if you don't want to have the same experience as me, please don't book this hotel
