We were up in Dumfries and Galloway over the May 2025 bank holiday weekend visiting family when disaster struck on the very first day. Somewhere near Newton Stewart, in what felt like the middle of nowhere to us, we hit a rock and had a big gash in the tyre wall.

Not being from the area, we had no idea who to call. We must have phoned garage after garage and got nowhere. Absolutely nobody was willing to come out. Eventually, we found Stewartry Tyres online and gave them a ring, and they were a total breath of fresh air. Straight away they were helpful, calm, and clearly used to solving these sorts of situations.

After a bit of back and forth, they managed to arrange someone to come out to us on the bank holiday Monday morning. We were due to set off at 9 in the morning for a 7 hour drive home, and unbelievably, the guy arrived at 8 on the dot and had everything sorted within 20 minutes. I cannot remember his name, but the young chap who came out was absolutely fantastic. He was friendly, efficient, and just one of those people who makes a stressful situation feel that bit more manageable.

Given how remote we were and the fact it was a bank holiday, we were expecting to pay through the nose for the service, but the price was really reasonable. It honestly felt like we got lucky finding them.

We had left the car out there for three days not knowing if help would ever arrive, so when Stewartry Tyres came through, it genuinely saved the day. If you are ever stuck in the area, do not waste time ringing around like we did. Just call them first.

We had a problem with our Honda Jazz (heat shield) whilst on holiday. Castle Douglas garage were so helpful and had it fixed and on the road fixed within half an hour. Very well run place. Thank you.

Excellent service today (as always) Had 2 new tyres fitted by them last week then on Saturday one of them had a nail in it. Took it back today thinking I would have to pay for another but because I had bought GT tyres there was a warranty and as I hadn't worn the tread down at all they fitted a new one completely free of charge. They didn't even charge for fitting GREAT SERVICE.

Always had good experiences here , been twice with unusual tyres one for a chipper and one for a ride on lawn mower both were repaired within the hour and at reasonable prices .Pleased so far
