We found this tour on accident after our earlier plans changed. We were so lucky to have Ted as our guide! He amazed all of us with his knowledge, wit and charm. We were so sad when the tour ended, but we were much more learned! We followed him to his next job at St Mary’s de Crypt and got another tour there! If you’re on the fence at all don’t hesitate! I did two tours with the Civic Trust. One of The Folk with Simon and one of the City Centre with Noel. Both tours were excellent. Noel and Simon are not only very knowledgeable and passionate about Gloucester but also great fun. I will definitely do some of the other tours the Civic Trust, next time I visit Gloucester.

This is a “must do” guided walk to quickly gain a well rounded insight into the people and buildings that make up the history of Gloucester. Mark, our guide on 22 August answered all questions thoroughly. It was excellent value for money and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Today we had the tour of Gloucester conducted by Mark. In a word Excellent. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Mark was very knowledgeable and made it interesting by the way he came across to everyone. I highly recommend the tour. You won’t be disappointed

Really interesting tour and lovely people!
We had booked a tour online, and when we arrived the guide allocated to us was suddenly unavailable. The staff at the Trust couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful, ringing round for an alternative guide and even offering us a coffee while we waited! Mark was able to take our tour at very short notice. He was so knowledgeable and interesting, with lots of stories and anecdotes. We saw and heard about things we would never have found ourselves. A couple of hours very well spent- well worth doing if you visit Gloucester.

The 11am 90 minutes walking tour from St Michael’s Tower is a must for anybody visiting Gloucester. Sue our guide was excellent. She was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Gloucester but also gave some quirky information and amusing stories about the city. Thank you, Sue, for the recommendation for lunch at the Fountain Inn in Gloucester. We can highly recommend this walking tour.

Can’t help but see Gloucester in a different way after this excellent experience. Our guide Mark, was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable pointing out all the hidden gems of history, which most walk past everyday without knowing. Highly recommended and not to be missed.
