We arranged a large family gathering at Lapwings Barn, as we’re spread over the country I needed a house that would fit all my family and was central to everyone. This was the perfect venue! The views, the house, everything was stunning. They had everything you could need and the Tesco driver found us easily. We had to call maintenance as one of the toilets wasn’t working and he came out within an hour or 2. We arrived early so stopped in Ye Old Cheshire Cheese Inn, which was so friendly and a beautiful pub and literally a 5/10 minute drive up the road. We had about 30 people including 5 children and we had the best weekend. We would definitely return! And I would highly recommend this property and Peak Venues as well 5*

We hired holly bush for 45 adults sharing a 60th birthday. We hired pizza van for the Friday and caterers for the Saturday.
Fancy dress evening Friday. Sit down hot
Buffet meal Saturday. It was just perfect !!

Overall, our stay at Cliff House was fantastic, and the whole family had a wonderful time. The location is excellent, with a beautiful sunset view just around the corner, and the large hot tub was a highlight (though keeping up with the wood to heat it did take some effort). The rooms were spacious, most with en suites, and the kitchen and cottage areas were clean and well-equipped, with plenty of games to enjoy.

That said, there were a few drawbacks. The washing machine and dryer were not very effective and likely need replacing. We also noticed the sink was blocked, and the microwave could have been cleaned more thoroughly. A door for the upstairs living room would also make the space more private and practical.

In the cottage, the toilet door didn’t lock properly, and even when the bedroom doors were locked from the inside, they could still be opened from outside, which might be worth addressing.

Despite these minor issues, the trip was truly memorable, and Cliff House is a place we would both recommend and happily return to in the future.

Dale House, Litton was fantastic for a group get together. We were a group of 19. All rooms spacious, many ensuite and clean and kept to a high standard. Great outside space and ample seating indoors for eating together. Kitchen and fridge space a little small for a large group but it just about worked. The games room was well used as well and a great addition.

Communication from Peak Venues was excellent and always helpful.

The village of Litton is a short walk away and we had a really amazing pub meal there (we pre-booked - seems they can seat a max of 20 together). Can do lots of nice walks from the door step. Would definitely recommend.

A wonderful location & site. The Grange slept 14 very comfortably and the cottage was very well equipped. The cottage games room was a great addition along with the communal one.
We had a lovely weekend celebrating a 50th birthday.
If I was to critique on any feature, it would be the outside seating as we would have liked to have all sat together, but the 2 benches were either side of the courtyard area.

We stayed in Church View (Taddington). Lovely house, looks cozy and comfortable. Three toilets. All the Peak District attractions are easily accessible. After a week, the beds were remade and the toilets cleaned, which was something we'd never experienced before. Highly recommended!

This is our second time at Hurdlow Grange and we'd happily return for another uni reunion. We took over all the accommodations for 35 people and it was just perfect.
The Peak venues team are super efficient, prompt, helpful and polite.
The accommodations are really top notch with practically everything there that you may need for self catering or getting food delivered to you.
The beds and pillows were firm and comfortable. Shower pressure very good.
Just note that in some rooms the slanting ceiling causes problem with standing in the bathroom.
Some rooms are smaller than the others but the description is accurate so you just have to accept that some guests will have to stay in smaller rooms.
Views are stupendous. Holstein cows give you company. You can buy fresh eggs from the nearby farm. No other neighbours.
Two new things I noted this time.
Sheepshed : a place for corporate events. Very well equipped. Only issue is that it can be very warm on a sunny day.
There is new lead mine nearby which we didn't see before. It was very impressive.
Numerous walks nearby.
We had a very nice lunch at nearby Royal Oak pub.
They also have EV charger now. You need to download an app beforehand. Please include this info in the welcome pack.
Also no more picking up keys. They are all inside a key box on the walls.
Just one small comment is that like most British properties the rooms are built to conserve heat and with the recent heat wave we had, the rooms can be uncomfortably warm and stuffy
We used the biggest kitchen at Crucked Barn and it did get quite warm in the evening when outside temperature was pretty high.
Perhaps management can look into providing some pedestal fans ?
Highly recommended as a place for large group gatherings.

Holybush Farm is a fabulous place. It has got all the facilities and equipment. There was 18 of us on the trip and each and everyone enjoyed the place.
It is near to a few villages and pubs
The staff in the admin dept are very helpful specially Zoe and Lucy in the office.
Will definitely recommend to friends and family.
