Sarah and the bar team were all friendly, welcoming - she set my friend up with a room no problem after a last minute decision to stay too.

The rooms are beautiful, beds are so comfortable! Lovely bedding. Nice touches everywhere. Nice teas to enjoy in the room. TV screens but only for dvds watching. Digital radios. Jack in the box.

It was cheese night. Sarah came to find us in the beer garden to alert us to the arrival of the cheese . No idea what all of them were but they were all delicious and freely available on the bar.

Lovely locals and gorgeous dogs.
Was definitely quieter than when bands play and I was glad of that after a big walk.
Will definitely return!

Only downside was a noisy extractor fan outside on and off but it didn’t ruin my experience.

Would like to have seen the gallery but we were too early in the week.

Finally, a really good selection of cask and keg and good takeaways nearby.

We were made to feel unwelcome and told to shut up as they'd booked a poetry set. We purposely sat the furthest away from the stage to cause the least disruption. The bar staff then decided to hassle our group twice as we weren't there for the poetry set and merely wanted to spend money in their establishment and enjoy each other's company. I'd advise you to check their events before attending as if you don't like that they've booked you, and you aren't welcome to have a drink there. Plenty of other pubs in a 5 min radius that won't make you feel uncomfortable for existing in their public house

The Feather Star is an absolute cracker of a pub. Dog friendly, decent beers and decor that's a little offbeat. Records for sale, well worth visiting. M

We were blown away by pub - a stunning little corner of the world. The place was filled with lots of wonderful trinkets, colour & friendly faces. We had a gf beer & a cider on tap both were lovely & very reasonably priced. The owner was lovely, telling us the history of the building. Dog friendly, loads of atmosphere & too boot my Vinyl collecting partner was very happy with the Vinyl on sale there & came away with 3. We will definitely return & 💯recommend this place. You won’t be disappointed ☺️

Bar staff very rude and unwelcoming. Would not recommend at all. The young man with the very short hair behind the bar was incredibly abrupt.

We stayed in hotel rooms above the Feather Star Pub in the Red Lion Hotel during the Arts Festival and had a great time. The rooms are quirky and fun with huge super comfy beds. The location is in the middle of town and above a very fun and busy Pub but come closing time it was quiet and we slept very well. Very much recommend this place, we had a fantastic time.

Visited the Feather Star bar for a drink after cycling the High Peak Trail. Excellent selection of beers and a really nice atmosphere and decor, along with excellent service. Highly recommended.

Best pub in town!!! Quirky and super cosy place. Life music, great beers and perfect food.
We have not slept in the hotel but is our favourite pub in Wirksworth. Super friendly staff, great variety of local beers, Umami has the best pub snacks and once a week life music.
