I am leaving this review for my friend Linda Fryer. Blackburn.
Cherish looked after my husband for a few months until he passed away. The care he recieved was outstanding. The staff were kind, caring, compassionate, showed empathy to David. We wouldn't have wanted anymore than they provided. I completely recommend this care company to anyone needing help. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Linda Fryer. X

I wouldn't go to this company as carers and office staff are incompetent. One carer lost the door key and wanted to leave the door unlocked even though someone wouldn't be back for ages, office staff told the carer to just go and leave my vulnerable aunty in an unsafe environment. They won't even show up on time and give a good excuse so my aunty had no tea Saturday as I was away and yet she'll still be paying for that visit. They won't even stay the full time she pays for and they rely on things so they can cook in the microwave when we have plenty of proper food. And they have plenty of time to cook it. Carers are patronising and rude and won't apologise. They can't even wash pots properly or follow instructions half of the dishes they wash (even though they are told not to wash them) end up back in the wash. I would not go here as they only care about the money and not the clients. No wonder their report said they need improvement. Oh and if you leave a negative review, they will ambush you with a social worker and boot you from their care. It happened to me and my aunt.

I have seen a few bad reviews on here and it made me apprehensive about the agency but after an ICU admission, I had the agency send out carers to help me and I can only say the staff I have had have been amazing. Steph and Ellen
Have been absolutely incredible and they have done so much for me no matter how busy or tired they were nothing was a problem. Anita was nice and coral has been so kind. Victoria, Mehnaz and Tyler in the office have gone out of there way to help me whenever I have rung up. So please don’t let a couple of bad reviews put you off, this agency has some amazing people working for them that have helped me more than they could ever know.

Management go above and beyond to help always friendly professional and reassuring. Most of the support workers are friendly reliable and complete all tasks given. However there is the odd staff members that ignore reading care notes and do what they please this should not reflect on management. Due to individual poor choices of carer that came in home, who can be rude non compliant. Management are brilliant understanding deal with problems that may arise from time to time. And overall my experience wirh cherish has been an amazing journey I will miss a lot of the staff if I have to leave for spinal rehabilitation. If it wasn’t for management I would have been left for 12 hours with no night call in my own urine thanks to my social worker forgetting and neglecting my care needs at the time. Big hats off to you all I would recommend cherish to any of my friends and family.

Avoid avoid avoid! The carers can’t complete basic tasks and the management team are appalling. Even 1⭐️ is 1 too many for Cherish.

Their website states ‘We promise to limit the number of Carers working with you so that you can build a trusting and meaningful relationship with them’ yet the carers change on every visit-some days my dad can have 6 different carers out of 8 that attend in a day!

Their incompetence especially around catheter care has contributed towards UTIs and hospitalisation. I have had a care assessor out and a senior trainer from Cherish and nothing improved!

I have several pictures to support my review but due to the nature, I cannot share them publicly but the relevant authorities have seen them. Your loved ones deserve better, don’t use Cherish!

RESPONSE TO OWNERS RESPONSE (who clearly doesn’t know the situation):
- 4 visits a day, 2 carers per visit, 22 mins per visit is hardly a ‘large or intense package’
- you’re disappointed I left a review and didn’t work with you to resolve issues yet I have had several conversations since December with your staff/management team, I have sent several emails to your management team, local and head office highlighting issues, I have had a care assessor and your senior quality assurance/training officer at my home to show them and run through all the issues and nothing has improved!
- you state my review doesn’t help anyone and is just intended to damage your business - my review is honest, factual, I have photos, emails, copies of visit notes to support my review and it is here to warn others who entrust your ‘business’ to care for their loved ones so that they don’t have to go through the hassle of raising complaints/meeting office staff/mopping up the mess your staff have left like I have. You are correct that it is just your business, it generates you an income regardless of the damage your incompetent staff create, if someone is hospitalised like my father was, what difference does that make to you, he’s just a number on your books generating you an income so that you can live you lavish lifestyles. Your business is to provide care (and I use the term loosely) to vulnerable individuals, what benefit is it to me to damage your business? You’re causing damage to my father and probably others who live alone and don’t see first hand the poor standard of care your business provides

There are other negative reviews for Cherish both Rochdale and other sites inline with the comments that I have raised but clearly we all have nothing better to do than write these reviews to supposedly damage your business-as they say the truth hurts.

Totally incompetent staff..leaving my family member who is bed ridden desperate for the commode from 5 o'clock which is when they should be giving her some tea..and not showing up until just after 8 o'clock!!!! Poor management and staff who aren't trained properly. Some of the ladies are over opinionated and rude and don't cook her food properly leaving her with half cooked meals which means she gets diarrhoea and has to clean herself..stay well clear of them.
