I had a very disappointing experience with Enterprise Rent-A-Car Woolwich. After returning the vehicle, I was later charged £200 for a supposed rear bumper scrape—something I was not shown at the time of drop-off, nor made aware of in person. There was no joint inspection when I returned the car, and the damage was only brought to my attention after they debited my credit card, with no communication at all.

I’ve disputed the charge and asked for proper documentation, but the response so far has been vague and unsatisfactory. This process has felt unfair and untransparent, especially as a customer who returned the car in good condition.

If you rent from this branch, I strongly recommend taking detailed photos and videos of the car at pickup and drop-off, and ensuring a staff member signs off on the condition in person. I wouldn’t rent from this location again after this experience.

Really unhappy with the service I got from Enterprise. I booked a van for my brother in law to drive from Woolwich to a rural village called Puxley. They called me before confirming the reservation, asking to bring the driving license, etc. I've asked for price to extend rental by one day - a gentleman could not be bothered to work out the exact price, was saying something between £100 - 200. Not a single mention that there is a change of vehicle from the one I booked. On the day of the pick up my brother in law was given an electric van despite me booking diesel one. No one showed him where the charging cable was, they were rushing around just wanting to get rid of him, however had time to remind that van has to be dropped by 12:45 as it's Saturday and they're closing at 1pm. I booked until 1pm not 12:45, it is not my problem whatsoever that you want to get out as quick as you can. They also called twice to remind me that the vehicle has to be dropped by 12:45, shame they weren't very concerned to let me know that they're giving him electric van. It was a major inconvenience as I don't have a charging point at my house, nor there is one nearby. So he had to stop twice to charge it at the super fast chargers (which aren't super fast at all), let me also mention he didn't have a charging cable which added even more problems. Honestly, never again I would use Enterprise, not the service I expected whatsoever.

Absolute scam! We booked a van weeks in advance with Enterprise Van Hire. Everything was confirmed—we paid in full, submitted all documents, and planned our entire move accordingly. On the day of the move, we arrived at 8 AM as scheduled, only to be told that the van was not there and we had to come back at 10 AM.

At 10 AM, things got even worse. Despite our booking being in their system, they claimed there was an error matching my name and address and refused to give us a van. This was something they could have checked and fixed weeks ago, yet they only told us on the day of our move!

Then they suddenly demanded a credit card, even though their own website states debit cards are accepted. After hours of waiting, back-and-forth excuses, and zero solutions, we were told they could not give us a van at all.

The Consequences? A Complete Disaster.
• All our furniture and belongings were left outside on the pavement, completely exposed.
• We stood in freezing cold weather (2 degrees) for hours, humiliated, as people walked past our house like we had been kicked out.
• Our entire moving plan was destroyed—we had to move during rush hour, in the dark, in freezing temperatures.
• We ended up spending thousands of pounds at the last minute just to find another van and move our things.

Enterprise did nothing to help—no backup plan, no alternative solution, just “Sorry, we can’t do anything.” The level of incompetence and disorganization was shocking.

If you need a reliable van hire service, DO NOT use Enterprise. They will waste your time, ruin your plans, and leave you stranded. Absolutely disgraceful service.

had the delight of speaking with christine the manager who was polite and professional, but it was very obvious that enterprise are only concerned about charging you extra as they were not very knowledgeable on what can be done if you don’t pass the checks after they have accepted your money. I would make sure to call first before making any payments as like any big conglomerate, they try to be sneaky and often leave customers with hefty fines and no way out.

It’s sad to see how I have had so much trouble while my car was at Bodyshop for repairs .

The services provided by enterprise has been extremely disappointing overall .

1) I wasn’t given the car which I was comfortable driving as it wasn’t of the same size as my car . I called and requested multiple times and I was directed to different departments and my insurers when my insurer wasn’t even involved during this process .

2) The driver who came to drop the car , he wasn’t listening . Whatever he spoke I barely could understand. He was mumbling to himself most of the time and when I asked something he was mostly dismissive .

3 ) My car was done and the day I picked up my car same day I called enterprise to pick the courtesy car from same place where I was handed over the car . The car was unfortunately not picked up by your local team in Woolwich until after 2 days and than I kept getting calls from eneterprose that’s when I knew the COURTESY CAR WAS still at BMW .

I called again enterprise and asked them to pick up which they did 2 days after I dropped the car at BMW . As per them they never got the message from the person I spoke to over phone which was somehow a different branch and he promised he will inform the Woolwich branch about it .

There is lack of communication and updating of records at all levels of service and customer support .

I again got a call after 2-3 weeks for the same problem stating that why I didn’t drop the courtesy car the same day I picked my car up.

I was frustrated and furious but still I explained all of it again and emailed as well .

4) WRONGFUL CHARGE PF TRAFFIC VIOLATIN. FINE WITH NO EVIDENCE PROVIDED TO ME INSPITE OF REPEATED EMAILS .

Didn't start well but the staff did a fantastic job to solve each problem.
I booked a small van (i.e. Renault Kangoo or similar) for 2 days. Unfortunately they didn't have it available for me. So the day before they phoned me to propose a Mercedes GLB (big car) instead or a bigger van (if they have one). I accepted. Next day I got the Mercedes GLB. Of course same price as the small van.
30K+ miles but it was spotless and had pretty much the same volume as a small van (comfort as a bonus).
Before leaving I had a weird issue with android auto not willing to start with my phone (was working fine with other phones). They spent a good 10min trying to fix it for me. For the little story, I had to re-install android auto to fix the issue.
Gave back the car 2 days later, quick check together, no issue. Done.

Extremely Disappointed

I’ve been a loyal Enterprise customer for over a decade, but my experience with the Woolwich branch was appalling. I booked a premium car and never received a confirmation email—no terms, no conditions, no deposit info. The day before collection, they called and demanded a £500 credit card deposit, which I was never informed of. On top of that, they said I wouldn’t be getting the premium car at all, with zero explanation or clear alternative.

The staff were unhelpful, vague, and dismissive. No effort to resolve the issue, offer compensation, or provide clarity. This is not the service I’ve come to expect from Enterprise. I cancelled my booking and will never use this branch again. Avoid at all costs.
