We hired the Grand California to explore the Lake District and it was honestly the best decision we made. After long hikes, we’d pull up beside peaceful lakes or overlooking the mountains, pop out the chairs and table provided, and just soak it all in. On chillier evenings, we’d transform the inside layout into a cosy table for four and cook dinner while watching the sunset through the windows. The van was spotless, spacious, and felt like a home on wheels. The service from start to finish was amazing — friendly, easy, and stress-free. It made the whole trip unforgettable. We’ll 100% be hiring again!

I was hunting for a specific model of VW Transporter and made enquiries at a number of VW dealerships. I spoke with Jack Fry from Breeze Van Centre Portsmouth and he couldn't have been more helpful. Even though the van didn't originally meet my spec exactly, Jack went above and beyond to help me get what I wanted from his stock. He added heated seats to the van as he knew that was what I wanted and even had the body shop correct a slight issue as the van was used but now was perfect.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these guys especially Jack, they even made the collection easy, working closely with me to arrange a convenient date and time. Thank you so much Jack, I am super happy with my new vehicle.

Used these guys a few times for vehicle hire. The vans are always in great condition and have no expense spared in terms of spec. Price is always competitive and they don’t charge a ridiculous fee for taking the vehicles abroad. Will definitely come use again!

We hired the Grand California to explore the Lake District and it was absolutely perfect. After long hikes, it was the dream to come back to — park up, make some food, and relax under the stars. The van was spotless, super comfortable, and had everything we needed. The service from the team was faultless too — friendly, efficient, and so helpful from start to finish. Honestly, one of the best ways to travel. We’ll definitely be hiring again!

First time in a Campervan and really enjoyed it. I collected the van from the dealership on a Saturday and arrived a little earlier than my scheduled time. Even thought they were incredibly busy with lots of rentals going out they showed where we could make a tea or coffee and a quick chat.

Once all the paperwork was complete I was taken to the van I was hiring a California Surf. The look was amazing with aftermarket wheels and all terrain tyres. The was I was treated and the way the van was presented (fully valeted wheels shined etc) it was as if I was buying it. I was shown around the vehicle and how to use everything before heading off on our adventure.

The van drove really well and it was handy having cutlery, pots, kettle and mugs provided for when we parked up.

Dropping the van back was quick and easy and again staff were super helpful. They were genuinely interested how our break was. I would certainly hire again from Breeze and would recommend their services as well.

Disappointing experience. The vehicle I purchased had multiple issues from the outset – worn shock absorbers, incorrect tyre size causing rubbing, oil service due, and an EPC warning linked to turbo faults – all confirmed by independent garages and VW themselves.

There were also other problems: poor-quality bodywork, faulty heated wing mirrors, a faulty reverse camera, and missing caps on the power socket – some of which Breeze did attempt to put right. But when it came to the more serious mechanical faults, they didn’t offer to fix them. Instead, they chose to buy the vehicle back (minus usage), giving me no option for repair. At one point, I was even told I would "never be happy with the vehicle" – a thoughtless and insulting remark, considering I was raising clear, verified faults backed by VW themselves.

Personally, I wasted a lot of time trying to sort it all, and also invested in a styling kit and spare wheel – all for nothing.

Strangely, the vehicle was relisted just days later with around 2,000 fewer miles than when I handed it back, and advertised as having only 3 previous owners – when it should be 4, including me.

This is not what you expect from a main dealer – especially not on a vehicle worth over £45,000 and less than 3.5 years old at the time. And frankly, when you look at just how many things were wrong with the car, it’s astonishing it was ever put up for sale in that state.

Anyone viewing a VW Caravelle at Breeze Portsmouth: beware. And frankly, any cars with them should be treated with caution.

I can't give this company any less that 5 stars. It was my first time using them and was very happy with their level of service throughout. Their booking system is straightforward and Niyaz was fantastic. Not only did he make the booking process fast and easy to understand, he was also very knowledgeable about the car I was hiring. He really knows his job and came across very professional. Will definitely be using Breeze to hire vehicles in the future.
