Beautiful marina, very peaceful and lovely. We stayed in one of the floating pods and it was clean, compact but comfortable. A great outdoor sitting area with a bistro table and chairs. Ducks are very friendly and inquisitive, had to persuade a few not to enter the accommodation.

We were 2 families (4 adults, 4 kids 15, 15, 13 and 8) that arrived this morning at 8.30am ready to collect our day hire boat. Oliver welcomed us into the cafe, did the paperwork and the chef even made us bacon and sausages barms even though the cafe didn't open until 9am. Really really friendly and relaxed place. Beautifully kept marina with wonderful views of Cheshire. Rob showed us the ropes on the boat and was very helpful. Boat felt modern, clean and practical for a day trip on the canal. We brewed up, played a board game, took lots of photos and had lunch at The Cheshire Cat. We left the marina at 9am, had around an hour for lunch and headed back, arriving at 3.50. Sun was shining and we had a great day. This is our 3rd time hiring a day boat but first time at Tattenhall. We will 100% return here and are already planning an overnight stay in one of the pods. You can tell the staff love this place and what they do. We absolutely recommend it. Thanks Oliver and team 🛥

Hired three canal side pods and a canal boat. Amazing location that is very peaceful. The on-site cafe is great for drinks and breakfast. Pods were very clean and some dog friendly, which we used. Very friendly staff with a laid back attitude. I will certainly visit again. Thank you.

Hired a Day Boat yesterday, had an absolutely amazing day.
Never done this before. We were 2 62 yr old women.
We were greeted by 2 lovely staff at 8am. We were made to feel really welcome. Had a coffee and completed the paperwork together.
The Marina was lovely and the facilities were immaculate.
We were taken to our boat and shown around. Everything was explained to us. We took the boat out of the marina under instruction which was really reassuring. When we were confident, the staff got off and they showed us how to tie up and explained a choice of 2 routes. ( no locks involved for day hire)
We travelled the canal towards the Cheshire Cat. Was an interesting route, seeing life on the canal. Very leisurely travelling at a slow pace. Had a couple of times stuck in mud at side while we allowed other boaters to pass , but managed to sort it !
Everyone one you meet en route shouts hello which was nice.
Would definitely recommend Tattenhall Marina to hire a day boat. We will certainly be going back and taking the route towards Beeston Castle.

Great half day on narrow boat peaceful afternoon drifting on the canal. Good tuition given by Oliver he made sure I was confident enough to take the helm before departing. Definitely doing it again and I would recommend to give it a go.

Visited floating pods oct 23 , stopped in Osprey, it starts with your own parking spot which is great , accommodation is well laid out , modern , you dont feel you are actually floating ! Accommodation has all utensils , plates etc , towels .
You have tv if you so wish , the swans & ducks are great neighbours 😀👍
Location is quiet & look after , cafe is very close , staff are excellent, marina manager (apologies forgot yr name) is very friendly & professional , food is great , had both evening & breakfast food .
Walks close by & ice cream factory.
Park & ride for chester is about 15mins away
Would highly recommend for something a bit different

We spent an excellent day on Santa Maria, one of Tattenhall Marinas day hire boats.
We were celebrating our Golden wedding anniversary with family and wanted to mark the occasion with a different, memorable experience.
The day started with a comprehensive safety and familiarisation induction then we were off sailing towards Chester.
There was 10 in our party plus a small dog (the maximum allowed) and the boat was perfect in every way for our memorable cruise.
We moored up just before the Cheshire Cat at Christleton for our buffet lunch, afterwards the younger members of the party walked to a nearby Costa for take out drinks.
As there are no locks on this stretch it was a very peaceful, picturesque route.
Many thanks to all the staff at the marina we will definitely return.

Family trip...2 adults and 2 kids. From the moment we arrived at this lovely Marina, we were greeted with a warm welcome from the staff. Very polite and professional. Shown around the boat and was a little addition to know they had brewing up stuff to use, as well as plates and cutlery. We had come prepared with our own as we didnt realise it had them but we know for next time its a few less things to bring. The boat was easy to drive after the first few minutes of getting used to it. We had it for the full day so took the long route to The Cheshire Cat. A lovely stretch of canal with many places to moor if needed. We took a continental breakfast onboard and stopped halfway to enjoy it in the sunshine. Had a drink at The Chesire Cat then headed back. Turning round was no problem. The only thing we found was we were told it was approx 2 hours to get back from this point. We set off back at 1.45pm but still got back at 4.20pm so was 20 mins late. But we did ring ahead to inform them and they were extremely polite and understanding. We stuck to the rules of not going fast past moored boats and had many polite boat owners waving and saying hello as we passed them. We had such a fabulous day out and will most definitely be doing this again. We only had 4 on our boat but you can have up to 10 people. 100% recommend this experience.
