Fantastic location, right in the centre of Holt with the bonus of a private off-road parking space.
Large, modern bathrooms with plenty of fluffy towels and shampoo and body wash. Large living area and kitchen with all the mod cons.
As this property is in the centre of Holt, there is some street and traffic noise, but this didn’t bother us. There are shutters to all the bedroom windows to block out the light and some of the noise.
We will definitely return. Highly recommended.
Lots to see and do in the area. Plenty of walking opportunities and fabulous pubs and restaurants.

Update:
This was our second trip to the cottage this year and we have already booked another break in August. It is perfect for us. It is in a great location - a good base to visit places on the Norfolk coast - it is dog-friendly, with a secure garden, and it has an EV charger - great for us with our electric car.

The cottage itself is very comfortable and well-equipped. In addition, the owners offer very thoughtful extras such as welcome treats - for humans and dogs! If we had any queries, they were very responsive and offered helpful advice on the area.

There is so much to see in this part of the world. This time we spent time in Cley-next-the-sea which is very picturesque, has great shops and places to eat, and has wonderful places for dog walking across the salt marshes. We visited nearby NT properties Blickling Hall and Sheringham Park - again great for dog walks. Holt is an obligatory stop-off for us to shop and buy extra goodies.

Cromer is another favourite for browsing shops including small galleries - most shops are also dog-friendly which is a bonus for us.

West Runton itself is a lovely, unspoilt place with great places for dog walking and to sit and chill over a drink.

We are looking forward to exploring more places in August!

We moved to Norfolk nearly three years ago but this was our first chance to explore the north Norfolk coast. We were keen to find a dog-friendly cottage and ideally one with an EV charging point. Brackenhurst fitted the bill perfectly. It was a total delight from start to finish. The location is superb, opening onto NT woodland so ideal for walks, and not far from the beach and other great locations to visit. We took the steam train from Sheringham to Holt and back which was lovely. Holt is a great place to visit, have a bite to eat and do a bit of shopping. Other great places we visited on our short visit were Old Hunstanton, Felbrigg Hall, Sheringham Park and Cromer. Everywhere was dog-friendly which was great! The cottage itself had everything we needed with a lovely welcoming pack for both us and our dog! It was very comfortable and clean. The secure private area in the garden was a bonus so we could relax knowing our dog was safe. We loved it so much we have booked again in July! There are so many other places we didn't have a chance to explore on this short visit.

We had a wonderful week in Weybourne at Mill End. Mill End is in a beautiful setting, well equipped and well set up - perfect for the three of us. We saw young deer in the mornings, and the stars at night were awe-inspiring - we had clear, dark skies. We would definitely come back.

Fabulous few days staying at Seaforth in Cromer. We were spoiled by glorious weather. The selling feature of this property is the proximity to the sea- so close you can almost touch it.
Our star rating is based on this being a comfortable house, clean and comfy beds, that had everything we needed, but it had a very lived in, almost worn out feel.

We holiday in North Norfolk about 6/7 times a year and this is our first time we have booked with Big Skies Holiday Cottages. Could not fault them at all.

Myself, husband and dog Dolly stayed in Liz’s Lodge from the 21st March for a week. I have high expectations when booking and staying in holiday cottages and have to say Liz’s Lodge exceeded these. Everything has been thought of. The welcome hamper was a lovely surprise. We absolutely loved the shower gel/shampoo/conditioner - it’s the little things!

Liz’s Lodge is in a beautiful forest setting, very quiet. Lots of wildlife to be seen, squirrels, deer, hares. Our dog Dolly was in her element. Fabulous walks from the lodge. We didn’t use our car at all the week we were there. And oh my we walked, nearly 60 miles. The local bus stop is 1 1/2 miles from the lodge.

We didn’t want to leave Liz’s Lodge. We re booked for next March whilst we were there. Fabulous communication from Big Skies Holiday Cottages.

As others have mentioned the WiFi can be a little patchy, but this didn’t spoil our enjoyment of the lodge.

Had a great week in Daisy’s Place. The cottage was immaculate and very comfortable. Being able to watch television from the bath was definitely a unique experience! The Ostrich pub down the road served lovely food and the staff were all really friendly. Our dog enjoyed the playing field across the road. South Creake was ideally located for visiting all the local villages and amazing beaches. Would highly recommend, and would love to return.

We stayed at Brackenhurst Cottage and thought that it was an amazing home. The facilities were excellent and very clean and of a very high standard and quality. We met the host and found out that we were their first guests - we were very honoured and congratulated them on an excellent setting. The accommodation was on the very edge of a National Trust woodland containing many beautiful walks in a lot of nature - absolutely breathtaking. We were very close to West Runton and Cromer beach fronts so had the best of both worlds being in woodland and near to the sea. Would recommend this area of England and would definitely recommend Brackenhurst Cottage, wholeheartedly.
