I visited with my husband on a Saturday, and we had a lovely time. The entrance is free, and the whole place has such a peaceful and charming atmosphere. We really enjoyed having tea, coffee, cookies, and cake at the riverside café – it was so relaxing. The museum is informative and well-preserved, and the little shops with handmade pottery were a joy to explore. I’m also looking forward to the river trips starting in June! A perfect spot for a cultural yet relaxing day out. Highly recommended!

A lovely surprise. We were passing on our canal boat and thought we would drop in for a coffee. A fabulous place, well worth paying the entrance fee for the heritage tour and also lots of free things to see and do as well as arts and craft shops and good cafe. Extraordinarily friendly and helpful staff and volunteers and a great place to buy original pottery and crafts.

This was a fantastic venue to photograph a wedding at. A stunning historical wedding venue with a lot of rustic charm. Offering a unique backdrop to anyone planning a wedding a little different to the norm. The staff were helpful, cheerful and very organised on the day. There are lots of places for unique photo opportunities for couples, including inside a bottle kiln! Plenty of areas for guests to wander around and look through. The bar and main function room are separate and allow for people to have a more relaxed drink if needed.

A fantastic venue all around and I hope to be back again soon!

I have visited Middleport pottery (producers of Burleigh ware) a few times to do photo shoots. The kiln makes a great backdrop!

Always feel really welcome here and there's a nice atmosphere.

The staff are really friendly even the kiln technicians and it's right next to the Trent & Mersey canal so you get to see narrowboats passing through ☺️

Brilliant place. As soon as we arrived a lovely man showed us where to go. He had a shop selling pine furniture. We went to the cafe, we only had drinks but the breakfasts looked delicious. We then purchased a tour ticket from a lovely lady who was so helpful and kind. The tour was great, a lady volunteer came to chat I don’t know her name, she had long auburn hair and was also lovely. The whole place was immaculate and beautifully restored. Everyone was so friendly. Would highly recommend and will definitely return in the summer months.

Interesting pottery museum with many historic information of the producing procedure and how the workers lived.

The area has a touch of a 'lost place' but it's still in use. Great scenario!

Small café, big taste. Good coffee and the vegan chocolate cake was gorgeous.

It was a pity - all shops closed.
Nevertheless recommendable!

We held our wedding at Middleport Pottery on Saturday and it exceeded all of our expectations. Sarah was excellent throughout the planning and execution of the day. Everything went to plan, looked beautiful and we had the best day. We are eternally grateful to have been able to get married in such a special, unique place. Thank you so much!

Living in Stoke-on-Trent I have visited Middleport Pottery often, and having grown up in Melbourne, Australia, this place is the very essence of the Potteries as I grew up hearing about them... I have brought friends and visitors here, not only to enjoy the historic setting of the traditional potbank, with it's bottle oven in the courtyard, but also to enjoy a meal in the cafe. It's a great meeting place, and a lovely spot to wander and for friends visiting from further afield, there are some lovely, hand-made pieces in the shops for them to take home as a quality souvenir of their trip. Set right on the Trent and Mersy Canal, there is a car park to one side, as well.

The cafe is lovely with it's rustic appearance enhanced by the decorations which have their roots in the patterns of the Burleigh ceramics which were once created on this very site. The food is always great quality and the coffee is top notch, which really matters to me!

I highly recommend stopping here if you are visiting the area - and if you are a fan of Victorian period dramas, or the reality show, "The Great Pottery Throw Down" you have the knowlege that you are visiting a location which is often used for film and TV shows alike.
