This is an absolute gem of a campsite.
The owner Brian is an excellent host. It is a small, quiet campsite ( which we loved) with the best facilities on a campsite that I have seen. Hot showers. Toilets always stocked with soap and loo roll and maintained.
A washing up area that is clean and thoughtfully stocked. A fridge and a freezer available to use. Recycling points for rubbish.
However the best feature is the location. A very beautiful lake surrounded by woodlands to explore. ( Brian said it will take approximately 4 hours to walk the perimeter - so it is not a small lake!)
It is dog friendly ( although dog swimming in the lake is prohibited. My dog had no problem with this and hates getting wet but I know that some dogs would be very disappointed).
It is a short walk around the lake to a fairly quiet activity centre where you can hire a canoe or paddle board or pay to launch your own.
There are only 6 pitches on this site and the emphasis is on peace and quiet( which is something we always seek). The pitches are huge and there are no hidden fees for gazebos etc.
(We didn’t bring kids but it is a child friendly campsite if you do.)
Very close to nature. We had the pleasure of seeing a baby rabbit on site as well as a fantastic arial bat display of an evening and we even spotted some deer around the lake too.

Beautiful little camp site! The cleanest bathrooms i have ever seen at a camp site, and a very generous amount of amenities. There was washing up amenities, a fridge and a place to charge your devices, and the showers were lovely and hot. Camp sites are in designated areas, and a limit of how many can be there, so always feels nice and close to nature. We got beautiful evening sun and were protected from the wind. Plus Wibleball lake is a stones throw away.
The hosts are really lovely people too, and took the time to chat to us about activities in the area, recommendations, and topics of interest.
I highly recommend this campsite, I'd gladly stay here again

Wonderful campsite. Brian is so helpful, kind and friendly.
The site only has 6 pitches which means it's relaxed and quiet. The toilet is clean, the showers are hot and powerful, fridges and freezers are provided for food. There is no mobile signal which is a massive positive for us, so the teens weren't on their phones.
Behind the hedge is a beautiful lake (not part of the campsite) where we swam and paddleboarded. The walk to the activity centre is also really nice.

Campfires and bbqs are allowed, as long as they are raised off the grass. Brian provides blocks for this and can provide everything you need for a fire, including a fire basket (for a small cost). Brian came around on his quad bike in the evenings and provided bubbles for the kids.

We can't wait to come back!

Great little, quiet, clean campsite. All the basics (showers, toilets, washing up facilities), plus free fridges and freezers. The site has relatively flat pitches; ours, at the bottom, was slightly sloped, but others are flatter. Ours at least had the evening sun and was sheltered from the wind. There's good, quick access to the lakeside walk, and play area up at the sailing club. To top it off Brian and Caroline couldn't have been more friendly, or accommodating. Would definitely like to revisit, and recommend staying.

This is a wonderful place to stay. The campsite is quiet and peaceful, and the owner is welcoming and helpful. The toilets and showers were spotlessly clean. It's a small campsite tucked away down a country lane, with no WiFi or mobile signal, which meant that we had a real away from it all break. We loved it and will be back next year.
