Beautiful hotel right in the middle of the lovely village of Attleborough. I sadly had a funeral at St Mary's which is right next door, but a very welcoming environment meets you - with good local knowledge on where to park (Booking, com says there is private parking, there may be 3 space but there was none when I was there).
I stayed in the four poster room, great size and very comfortable, missing a fifth star for rooms as shower had little power, no hairdryer, and every floorboard creaked - i may be a little picky because it is an old building, but a part from these pointing there was excellent service from everyone i spoke too. Will be back to explore the lovely village, but the next trip will be for happier reasons.

The staff were lovely, very welcoming and looked after us all šŸ‘šŸ»
Good atmosphere as a pub, and nice quirky old building as an hotel. I’d definitely stay again!!

If you have a small car, there is a tiny bit of parking. (If you have an SUV with bike racks on, just mind the parasols (sorry šŸ™šŸ» — we checked and it was OK!))

Back when I lived in Attleborough, prior to 2010, this was my local. Visiting the area again I had a dinner here with a good friend. The pub is now under new ownership and the future looks bright. Everything pleasant that I recalled of the old Griffin has been maintained, with the addition of a great new menu. The food was well priced and delicious. I wish the new owners luck and I think the Griffin has an exciting new chapter ahead. All the best to the previous owners too, if they read this, for their retirement.

The food here was absolutely dreadful. It's a lovely building, which they are obviously in the process of updating, but that's the only nice thing about the place. Bar staff were unattatentive, so we waited ages to get served, and then the bloke didn't listen to our drinks order properly and stuggled to sort out a food order with one minor amendment. The restaurant area is cramped, and it's a struggle to move around, although the view over the church gardens is pretty. We ordered cheese and bacon burgers at around £13 each, and it was literally because we were starving that we ate them (our first choices were closed or full). For this price I would expect a decent burger, especially considering there's a butcher just down the road that makes them. What we got was a kind of Sainsbury's value burger, full cereal with minimal meat content, and massively overcooked. The bacon was ok, again overcooked. The fryers obviously need thrir old changing, as they've were a dirty brown colour, and the dressing on the side salad made it inedible. Meanwhile, on the table next to us, the 'waitress' taking the order was telling them she "really couldn't tell ya" what lager they served, in response to one of the customers asking what they had. I appreciate she may be new and not know all the drinks, but a better response would be to explain you weren't sure and then go and quickly check. The same waitress tried to come and take the plates away before we'd even finished, not that we ate it all. If you're not bothered about nice, good quality, or good service, then this is the place for you.

Not cheap, basic room with en suite. Shower doors poorly fitting.
Small bed, had to move a dresser to be comfortable.
Very nice breakfast and friendly staff.

Spent 2 nights here since my companion had a case in the area. This is an old inn with bags of character in a very central location, with Cromer, Norwich and other places within easy reach by rail or road.||We ate in the restaurant one night and enjoyed the included two individually cooked breakfasts each morning. Most of the food was locally sourced and was of a high quality.||The room was spacious and (obviously due to the age of the property) a little creaky.||The property was clean, the staff friendly and the bed very comfortable. We would return if in the area again.
