Liked: A Lovely Campsite with Thoughtful Touches

I recently stayed at this campsite and had a genuinely great experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which really set the tone for the whole visit.

There’s a small on-site shop that’s stocked with all those little essentials you’re bound to forget—things like eggs, bread, and even camping bits like temp pegs. Super handy and reasonably priced.

The shower cubicles were spacious, warm, and spotlessly clean—some of the nicest I’ve used at a campsite. The toilets were also very well maintained, which makes a big difference when you're staying a few days.

One of the highlights was the little static food truck. It was open for breakfast and dinner, and you could even get a packed lunch made up for the day. The food was genuinely tasty and excellent value for money.

All in all, it’s clear the owners have put real thought into what campers need. Highly recommend, and I’ll definitely be back!

Liked: I stayed here as it’s so close to Skomer Island parking and jetty. Maroles sands is a lovely beach. There just isn’t huge amounts to do In local area.
Friendly campsite and staff are lovely
Good clean toilets and shower blocks - showers were really hot and liked the clothes hanger, bench and sinks in each shower cubicle.
Great food van on site
Big pitches with hedges separating so added more privacy
Lots of wildlife/birds
I do recommend RunwaySklin for lunch

Disliked: Not much to really dislike good value. Just in a very quiet area with no much to do.
No wifi but you can survive without it šŸ™‚

Liked: Quiet friendly site with very good facilities. Clean hot showers and toilets. Loved the onsite food facilities. Hoasts were welcoming and friendly and helped with anything you needed. A trip to Skomer Island to see the puffins was amazing.

Disliked: Shane the local pub didn’t seem open to visitors

We spent 2 nights in this lovely B&B. The hosts genuinely care for their guests. The room was very nice and clean, provided all that we needed and more. The breakfast was excellent (dietary restrictions were well cared for). There is a food truck on the Campsite which certainly is a good alternative to the understaffed local pub where the food was fine but hygiene dramatically deteriorated during the evenings.

Liked: Really friendly and welcoming, laid back campsite with everything you need. Quiet as well and well laid out. Great location too.

Disliked: It would have been nice to be able to have a fire. There’s not many campsites that don’t permit it these days and provided people are careful and responsible it’s difficult to see why it’s not allowed. Toasting marshmallows over a fire is always a camping highlight for us!

We stayed for one night before an early boat to Skomer. The greeting couldn’t have been warmer or more friendly. The room was spotlessly clean and well kitted out. Comfortable beds. Very good breakfast. I can also very warmly recommend the food truck on the premises. All around an excellent place to stay in a lovely village.

Liked: Great location, staff are really helpful. Great little site and wasn’t full whilst we were there which made it even quieter. Although we didn’t use it there is a food van doing breakfast most mornings and evening meals on most evenings (not sure if every day). Small shop with lots of bits and pieces including milk etc and I am sure if you were not going out they would do their best to source anything specific. Would definitely visit again.

Disliked: Nothing really. Appears gents toilets will be undergoing some works which will make it better.

Liked: Brilliant site. A lovely peaceful site where the owners, wardens and catering team- Top 1 food, are excellent and couldn’t do enough for you.
The village is nice and a short walk from some lovely walking and beautiful sea views. A trip to see the puffins topped it all off, with a lift to catch the ferry an added bonus. The dogs had a great time at Marloes Sands worth the walk. I would highly recommend Foxdale and would certainly return.
