I agree with Dan’s review below. While the canyoning itself was fun and the staff were great, the overall experience felt poor value for money. Having to drive between sites, pay extra for parking, and only getting around two hours of activity just didn’t justify the £70 per person cost. Like Dan pointed out, the risk of being switched to a cheaper alternative seems high. After looking at other reviews, it appears white water rafting is rarely possible. It feels borderline like a scam: charging people for the more expensive activity but more often than not delivering the cheaper, shorter one instead. While other activities seem to have good reviews I wouldn’t recommend booking white water rafting.

Excellent day out canyoneering as part of a stag group. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and made us feel safe while still enjoying ourselves with all the fun to be had while climbing, hiking and jumping into the pools. The equipment we borrowed was in good condition and it was easy to organise.

One comment to add is that it would be nice to meet at the location straight away, rather than the center as this was a bit of a de-tour for us.

So a friend of mine booked white water rafting for 6 of us, at £70 a piece.
Some paperwork followed, which stated that an alternative activity will be used in cases where conditions are not suitable for the rafting, and that this activity would be canyoning.
2 days before the activity, we're told that the activity will be canyoning due to the water levels being too low.
We show up in groups between 9:50 and 10:00, but hang around for about 20 minutes as 4 persons from another group hadn't shown up.
We're told we have to make our own way to Glynneath for the canyoning activity, which is another 40 minute drive. We have to each pay £5 for parking and that there's a café there to buy food/drinks.
We're given wetsuits, helmets, and life vests before we leave, and once there we get dressed and head on out. It's 11:45 at this point, so still a good chunk of the day left.
It's a good laugh doing the canyoning, don't get me wrong, and the instructor was lovely, but after 2 hours, we're back at the car getting changed again.

The reason I've given this a 2-star rating is for several reasons:

1. Having us drive to the headquarters in Porthcawl just to drive to Glynneath is a real pain. That's not far from where I started the journey. Is it too much to ask for some transportation considering you're making almost a grand from this trip, or at least guide us directly to the location?

2. Parking. Again, you're making almost a grand from this 12 person visit, so is it too much for you guys to sort this out. Yeah it's a fiver each, but come on.

3. The canyoning activity lasts around 2 hours. This is supposed to be a day of activity, and I feel that two hours or so is not reflective of the price.

4. Again related to the cost, but couldn't you sort some sort of food and drink? I get that there's a cafe nearby, but this is not exactly a cheap activity to begin with.

Ultimately, I wouldn't book this again because of the risk of alternative activities being run is high, and they are not proportionate to the cost in my opinion. We did have fun, but not £420 worth of it.

Amazing paintball day for my 14 year old twins' birthday. The instructor was a great laugh. Was definitely worth the price.
Will be back for more adventures once the bruises heal!

We worked with the Team at Adventures Wales to set-up a new fundraising event. We'd not done anything like this before, so it was a real trial for us however their expertise and guidance ensured that it was a very smooth process.

Dean and Gareth (instructors) were absolutely incredible on the day, they were prompt to arrive and set-up and were excellent with all of our fundraisers especially the nervous ones, their confidence and encouragement was noted by many of the people who took part and we even had people giggling on their way down because of Gareth’s humour.

The four of us had an amazing time gorge scrambling with Owen near Pontneddfechan! We hadn't been before and were quite nervous as it was pouring with rain and had been for several days so the water levels were quite high, but as soon as we got started we felt perfectly safe as he really knew his stuff, and we had the best time it was so much fun! From floating down rivers to scrambling up waterfalls and jumping off the top, we would definitely do it again and would 100% recommend to others!

Amazing day out. Gareth, our guide, was fantastic. He was really personable, and made the whole experience loads of fun. We went as a group for a stag do, and all of us had an awesome day. The scenery, the activities and the jokes all combined to make a really memorable day.
Highly recommended.
