Absolutely appalled. Booked a cottage to stay at from tomorrow for 1 week. Taken time off work and made travel and family arrangements. I received an abrupt email last night to cancel the accomodation. I've sent 3 emails, left a voicemail and sent an Instagram message - no response. This is disgusting service and completely unacceptable.
I've messaged the owner of the cottage, to be told that she informed Sykes/Menai 2 weeks ago that the property isn't habitable. But they have since failed to update their online system, took my booking and money, and have now LIED and said it was a recent "roof leak" that was unforeseen.

In response to your reply, yes Amy emailed me yesterday, to cancel with 48 hours notice. Good job I saw the email really isn't it. I've sent 3 emails back to her (first one was yesterday), she's not responded to any of them! I have sent messages to your Instagram account as well as Sykes, still no response. You are also not answering my phone calls, and haven't had the decency to call me back - my number is on the booking.
I also have, written proof from the property owner, that you were aware it wasn't habitable, yet you had no issue taking my money. Disgraceful and completely unacceptable.

Beware. They take no responsibility for the quality of their cottages. They took no action after our report of dirty and damp cottage.

Nothing like the photo you may see! The cottage we stayed in was a quaint, lovely base for our trip to Anglesey. Well furnished, very tidy and with really nice welcome gifts. Perfect for the two of us and our pooch.

Couldn't have asked for more. So helpful and understanding with our unfortunate incident of car breaking down. The cottage Bron Haul was excellent. Clean comfortable and lovely decor throughout dog friendly with garden. Local friendly pub. Lovely views. We felt so comfortable.

I've stayed in a few of Menai Holidays cottages' over the last 4 years and I've never been disappointed. The houses are always clean and welcoming and the staff really know their stuff when it comes to North Wales! They can walk you through the house, offer recommendations on things to do and places to eat -- and nothing is ever too much trouble. A great little company!

If I could give a minus score I would. Our 'holiday cottage' was more like a student house. Dirty, filthy, smelly. Badly in need of a decent clean especially the soft furnishings. In need of decorating. Damp in the bedroom. Dirty pillows. I could go On! Menai Holiday Cottages were disinterested and it was obvious from my first telephone call my complaint would be brushed under the carpet....with the rest of the filth!

Shame about the branding backstep... but great experience overall.

We've used Menai Holidays (Menai Holiday Cottages) for many years, they've always been fantastic and offer some amazing properties. This went hand in hand with their whole branding, showcasing their stunning properties beautifully on their website.

They were recently bought out by Sykes and this has clearly damaged the website experience - a massive backwards step which lost the warm nature of their site previously.

It's apparently the same team in the background, which is a great thing and I truly hope they can inject their personality back into their website in the future - it really does make a difference! ✌ī¸

We were very disappointed in the property we stayed in on the Island of Anglesey. The photos on their website did not show the reality of this house. The house (Gwynfa) was very shabby and dirty and in dire need of refurbishment. We complained to the company but their attitude was very unprofessional and they would not admit to the failings of the house. We have been unable to find any independent reviews of this company and their properties. The only reviews are those on their own website, which, surprise surprise are all positive and complimentary.
