Very comfortable and quiet for a working weekend. The room was clean, air conditioned, comfortable bed, mirrors & power points convenient, bathroom & shower great. Staff very helpful and welcoming. ||We had a meal deal in the adjoining restaurant which was for a full range of breakfast continental or full breakfast with cereals, toast, juices, cooked eggs, bacon etc and a 2 course evening meal with wine or beer, great choice and portion size. As we were working this was very useful.

From the outside if it wasn't for lights visible through the windows you might have thought it was closed down...no pub name visible from road as the hanging sign wasn't there!. From the carpark , neither the entrance to the hotel or the restaurant were obvious. Very UNWELCOMING. Seemed understaffed. |Room was fine although the doorhandle/ lock was hanging off..I used my tweezers to tighten the screws!|Restaurant staff were pleasant but room was very uninspiring and the food offer was appalling! Only |choice with salad was chicken |breast which I would have been happy with but they had none so I |was offered chicken goujons!!! Ended up with scampi and chips which was poor! Breakfast was equally disappointing : Only redcurrants as the berry offering. Staff not obvious. Tea and coffee tasted dreadful...Issue with the water, maybe? We cancelled our 2nd nights meal deal and got recommendations for other places to eat nearby. This place supposedly had a refurb 6 years ago! What happened?

The actual room itself was decent very spacious but had to ask for an extra heater as the heating didn’t work and couldn’t leave my baby in her travel cot as the breeze was coming under the door, so had to sleep in her pram. However the restaurant attached to the premier inn was shocking the food came out burnt and not edible, wouldn’t have minded but when it was taken back to the staff they said that’s how it came as it was a kids meal! We waited for 10 minutes after the food came for the knives and forks and the food took an hour to come out. Staff at reception were lovely and very helpful!

Avoid this one the worst premier inn i have ever stayed in. Filthy, food is disgusting, breakfasts is served in a pub next-door that is only open meal times. Breakfast is cooked to order and tasted of the burgers cooked the night before. Staff is very minimal down to two at times so service is very poor. Rooms are dirty never seen a cleaner for sometime. Hotel needs a refurb. The local area has very little to offer in terms of food and drink. Pics don't lie it is a dump.

We have stayed here twice before and have been happy with the service/cleanliness but this time, unfortunately not. The bar was closed most of the time ||, including our first Saturday night. The next morning, whilst my husband was blowing his nose with the toilet tissue, he realised that underneath the toilet tissue dispenser was, what appeared to be, human feaces smeared, with some also on the wall (husband- compromised immune system and on anti biotics). ||After returning from our day out, this still had not been cleaned. Un happy with the first 2 breakfasts. The whole place was understaffed and run down. Premiere Inn think that the compensation for all 5 nights with breakfasts included was worth £84!!! Overall, not a great, annual holiday!

Good points staff were helpful, polite & friendly. Food that we had was good, both breakfast & evening meal and we could help ourselves to Breakfast. Bad points although the room smelt very clean on entry of bleach, on closer inspection the shower cubicle was encrusted in grime & mould around the door hinges, grouting & seals of the shower tray. Could do with a refurbishment. There was a reduced food option, as there are in many Premier inns lately unfortunately.

We are on our way to the Lake District after getting married so this hotel is on route.
Booked a table at 7pm sat down ordered food drinks waited an hour for starters my wife had to clear our table as plates left on table. Waited nearly 50 mins for main meals. Asked the bar staff how much longer we would be waiting told chef was on his own on a bank holiday weekend totally unacceptable on many levels. Totally disappointed the staff couldn’t care a less no apology from them what so ever will NOT be visiting again.

Welcome a 1980s motel. We spent 4 nights at this hotel. The only two good things: the friendly staff and breakfast. The hotel rooms are outdated, not very clean; bathroom was mouldy & rusty. Carpets are not clean and even damp, the room windows can’t be opened and the fans in the room/bathroom aren’t enough to improve the humidity levels. We actually had to change rooms as our room stank due to the humidity.
The restaurant, previously known as a local pub “The Anchor” is half empty as most of the furniture is gone and the playground area doesn’t exist anymore. The garden sitting area is closed. Carpet in the restaurant has seen better days. Two out of our 4 nights the restaurant was closed for dinner due to the lack of staff. Premier Inn: this hotel needs to be improved, it is not to the premier inn standards and what we paid for was way too much for what we got.
